Hi I'm Chris

I'm a Mormon and proud of it. I have lived in Utah my entire life. I served an LDS mission to Rancagua, Chile and loved it there.

About Me

Well, I am 25 and going to school. I have been married for one year and have been loving it. There is nothing like a marriage centered around the Gospel of Jesus Christ. My wife Shayla and I are both working. I am trying to get through school and become a Radiologist. I currently work in a call center as a supervisor and my wife works at a family clinic as an appointment setter. I enjoy movies especially epic and fantasy and spending time with my wife. My family is almost all members. My mom and sisters are but my father is Lutheran. They are divorced and have been for almost 10 years now. I enjoy spending time with both of them and respect both them for their experiences and views.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because that is what I believe and feel to be right. I grew up around the Gospel and never really gave it much thought as to whether it was right or not. My father wasn't an active Lutheran until his mother died, but when he was active, I went to the Lutheran church a couple of times. As a kid, I felt more comfortable attending the LDS services. When I was trying to decide whether or not to go on a mission I really wanted to get a serious confirmation about the truthfulness of the Gospel that I was living. So one night after reading the Book of Mormon, I got down on my knees and asked the Lord if the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints is the true church and that a prophet is at its head because I was thinking about leaving on a mission to preach the gospel. After praying and wanting to know for myself and for real wanting to know, I got an answer. I knew in that moment that it was true what I was doing. I left on my mission and my testimony only grew. I got home and started serving in callings and my testimony grew. Finally I got married and my testimony is still growing. I can find ways that the Lord and his teachings are blessing my life. My burdens are more light and it makes life more enjoyable. I can see that my life could have taken another course but I am so much happier and feel that my life has more meaning since I have lived the Gospel of Jesus Christ.

How I live my faith

I try to live my faith the best way possible. I am trying to fulfill my calling to the best of my ability. I am currently serving in the Elder's Quorum Presidency and have enjoyed getting to know the brothers of the ward. I teach, assist and help plan activities for men between the ages of 18 and 40ish, depending on when they become a High Priest. One thing that I enjoy is something called home teaching. The Elder's Quorum President assigns a companionship of Elder's and we go out and visit around three different families. I really enjoy visiting and getting to know these families. The church has a tremendous support system and is trying to help all its members through service and love.
