Hi I'm Chandler Willman

Took a break from polevaulting. Now I'm serving. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

One of the few things I remember growing up was just how much I wanted to be a missionary. I looked forward to the day as though there could be nothing else in the world. To think that I was able to walk out the door with the Savior's name on my chest is an incredible honor. However, I feel that the Lord has a mission for each one of us and each day I get to discover my own.

Why I am a Mormon

I've often thought why I would be born in this time and circumstance-- raised in a Mormon family, a Mom and Dad who love each eachother, five sister who I would consider a group of the most perfect women in the world - and I I've come to decide I'm the luckiest man alive. I come from a legacy of faith. My mother's family goes back in the church for generations. But the faith of my Dad sparked in me a love for the gospel that only he can do. He taught me through example-- how to love my sister by the way he loves my mom, and how to follow the Savior in all my actions. I wish it was easy enough, however, to say that I rode on the tailwind of my family's testimony until I got to where I am at today. That wouldn't be true. I came down to hours of study in the scriptures and defining moments on my knees, praying for answers. There have been moments where the world seemed to cave in, fear and doubt entering in my heart just as I believe it enters in the lives of most everyone else. There comes the time where we begin to wonder whether it's all true, and worth it. I am beyond grateful that I have recieved a quiet an reassuring confirmation time and time again that it is God's truth. and beyond worth it.

How I live my faith

I just returned from serving a mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Dallas, Texas speaking the Spanish language. I know for myself of the happiness and light that the gospel of Jesus Christ brings into my life. I only want to share that light so that someday somebody can feel what I feel, the peace that comes from knowing that we are born of Divine parents and that our Heavenly Father has a plan for us, each of us.

Why do Mormon missionaries proselyte?

Chandler Willman
Part of our purpose as missionaries is to teach the Gospel message, but we can't teach until we've found someone. I knock doors and contact people on the street everyday so that I can give as many people as I can a legitimate chance to hear our message and learn for themselves that it is true. Show more Show less
