Hi I'm Steve

I'm a son, brother, husband to my beautiful wife, father to six talented people and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

Not much to say. I'm your average guy happily married to the same wife for nearly 30 years with six wonderful kids who are my pride and joy.

Why I am a Mormon

This is a bit of a unique story. As a young boy i had a yearning for spiritual things to the point I would go to local churches on my own and tried to read the Bible but as I entered my teen years I became caught up in youthful foibles and those things fell by the wayside. After graduating from high school i moved away from home and began finding my way. At this point God was far from any concern of mine but I was exploring sketching portraits of interesting faces. One day I was in an art gallery and saw a young female security guard that I thought I would like to sketch. After asking her if she would be interested in sitting for me, she politely declined and continued on with her duties. A few minutes later she quickly returned and rather excitedly said she would love to have me draw her. Somewhat surprised i made the appointment to meet in her apartment. When I arrived at her apartment a photo of an elderly man caught my attention and I asked who it was. She exclaimed, "that's Spencer W. Kimball, he's a prophet of God. " At that point deep down inside the Spirit of God bore witness that was true. So i began learning about this unique Christ-centered faith and began a series of profound spiritual experiences that frankly haven't ceased for 30 plus years. Literally that faith in Christ transformed me and became the foundation of every happiness i possess in this life. Within months I was baptized and a year later I was serving as a full-time missionary in San Diego sharing the gospel of Christ.

How I live my faith

It's pretty basic really; i follow Christ by making and keeping sacred covenants like baptism and try to help others do the same. In the words of Dicky Fox: "Hey, I don't have all the answers. In life, to be honest, I failed as much as I have succeeded. But I love my wife. I love my life. (and i would add 'I love my Christ who makes it all possible') And I wish you my kind of success." Jerry Maguire (1996).
