Hi I'm Sarah

I'm a Quarantine officer. I've travelled to 20 countries. I love Family History and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I work as a Quarantine Officer. I earned a Bachelor of Horticulture and have recently received a government development grant to study insect taxonomy in the USA. I took a year off university and went to Europe to work as an Au Pair in Germany, I took german language classes and can successfully talk to german children, adult conversations are a bit harder for me!. One of my passions is family history research, I have ancestors born in Australia from aboriginal descent, England, Ireland, Northern Ireland, Scotland, Wales, Egypt, Spain, Italy and Malta....quite a mixed bag! I also love learning about the context in which my ancestors lived, I am about to start a postgraduate diploma in Local, Family and Applied History. I am the eldest of four children in my family. I have the best Mum and Dad in the world and I'm grateful for the sacrifices they have made for me.

Why I am a Mormon

Although I have been a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints all of my life, I am a Mormon because I made a choice. There comes a time in everybody's life when they must evaluate their faith and beliefs and choose a path. I have had wonderful spiritual and learning experiences which has given me a deeper understanding of our Father in Heaven, His son Jesus Christ and the love they have for me. The gospel of Jesus Christ gives me peace, hope and joy like nothing else does.

How I live my faith

I try my best to live as my Saviour would have me live. I'm a volunteer in the Brisbane Temple and in my local congregation as a family history consultant. I serve the community by giving blood every three months as well as participating in other community service projects.

What is being a Mormon like?

It rocks! It may not always be easy but definitely worth it. Being a member of this church is one of my greatest blessings. Not only do I find the truth and answers to all my questions and problems in life, I have a 14 million member church family worldwide, that are truely genuine and fantastic people! Show more Show less
