Hi I'm Joe

I grew up on a grape vineyard in California. My wife and I have three beautiful children and I work in San Franciso. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I love watching my kids learn and enjoy school and sports and I look forward to exploring new places when we go on vacation. I grew up on a farm and my wife and I live close enough to go back often and visit my parents and other siblings back home. Spending time with my wife and kids is what I look forward to at the end of every work day. We came close to losing one of our children at birth and it has taught me to not take the time I have with them for granted.

Why I am a Mormon

I'm a Mormon because living the gospel of Jesus Christ has helped me and my family find joy and purpose in this life and I know that if I follow Christ that I can be together with my family again after this life. Knowing the purpose of this life helps me understand and cope with so many challenges that are part of living. Each of us is a daughter or son of God and we lived with Him before this life. As our Father, He wants the very best for us just like I want the best for my children. He sent us here to allow us to grow, learn from our mistakes, and choose to follow Him. When I stop to remember that this is the purpose of my life here on earth it helps put so many things into perspective. Knowing that there is a purpose to this life gives me direction and helps me face challenges that I might not otherwise be able to face.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by praying individually and with my wife and children. On Monday nights we get together as a family to have a little spiritual lesson along with a fun activity, snacks, song, and prayer. This family time helps bring us together as a family. During my commute I spend a few minutes a day reading from the Bible or the Book of Mormon. I can definitely tell the difference between the days I read the scriptures and the days I don't. It is amazing to me how I can read the same scripture a year later and certain things stand out for me that help me know what I should do in my life. I attend church each Sunday and during the week I try to make a point of visiting people who are sick, need help with a move, or just need a visit. Even just sending a quick text can make a huge impact for someone when you let them know that you are thinking of them during their time of need. Only the Savior is perfect and I am so grateful that he is there to forgive us and help us become better every day. When I don't live up to the man I want to be I just ask for forgiveness and it gives me the strength I need to try again to be better. I am so grateful that God is merciful and literally has his arms open to comfort us when we are down. I have felt his arms around me many times such that I don't just believe He loves me...I know He loves me.
