Hi I'm Maciel

I'm a Mormon. I have been working as an English Teacher in Mexico for almost 3years.

About Me

I´m a normal Single guy from Mexico who enjoys life, I love sports especially Football I played it for 3 years while going to high school, I spend my free time doing activities such as fishing, hunting etc.. I grew up in a very small town in Mexico, for most of my life my family and I were the only "Mormons" in the town, I have been teaching English for almost a year now and I think it´s a great way to serve my country by preparing the future generations and giving them the chance of having a better life.

Why I am a Mormon

I grew up in the "Mormon" faith, my parents taught me right principles and I´m always going to be grateful with them for that, since I was I child I learn that There is a God that cares for "me" that he has created a plan to help me to go back into his presence, By going to church I have learned that Jesus Christ is his son, that he came down to earth to suffer for my "sins", I Know that he lives and even when he was crucified, he, being the son of God in deed, had the power to overcome death, and by doing so he opened the door for all of us, the rest of the children of God to enter into his presence, all we have to do is follow his teachings, obey his commandments and exercise our faith in him, i know that as I do so, I´m going to be able to see him one day, I know that this church is led by Christ trough a prophet just like in the old times, a prophet that has been called by God and has been given the authority to lead us in this latter days, the times when the prophesies from old are going to be fulfilled. this all I know, this is all I believe, this is why I´m a Mormon.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by working with teenagers, I´m one of the man responsible for the well being of the youth in the area where I live, every Saturday we have a "class" for kids from different ages, most of them being around 12 to 18, in that "class" we teach them things that are going to help them in their lives, we prepare them to the "real world", the church runs a program especially directed for teens, in those "classes" we help them to set goals for their lives and then we help them to reach those goals, we teach them the value of getting a good education, we teach them the value of honesty and many other good principles that are going to make them the kind of Man that the world needs nowadays. also besides the "classes" we also prepare some leisure activities, we spend time with them playing sports and we help them to develop their talents, either music, arts, science etc.. we always have good time with them. come and join us.

Who chooses the Mormon prophet?

Maciel
We believe that Jesus Christ is the one who leads our church trough a prophet, this prophet is called by God just like in old times, since God is the same yesterday today and forever why couldn't ´t he be able to call prophets in our days? I know that our prophet today has been called by God and I´ll support him. Show more Show less
