Hi I'm Mike

I belong to the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints.

About Me

I am happily married to Rachel and have 5 kids, two boys and three girls. We live in the country on 6 acres.

Why I am a Mormon

I grew up in the church but just like most people who grow up in the church there comes a time when you have to decide for yourself if it is true. I read the Book of Mormon when I was about 14. I prayed about it and felt a warm feeling inside which made me feel really good. I knew at that point the church was true. I have continued to try to live the church teachings and by so doing have found a lot of happiness in life. Even when life gets difficult, I know we can turn to our Heavenly Father and he will help us through those difficult times. I know that reading the scriptures and praying daily to our Heavenly Father will help us to live our lives in accordance with His commandments and will help us return to live with him. I am grateful for the opportunity to be married to my wife not only during this life but for eternity. I am also grateful to have my children sealed to me and my wife and know if we live the gospel of Jesus Christ that we can be an eternal family.

How I live my faith

I attend the local ward where I live. I am actually the Bishop of the ward right now. This is usually a calling that lasts about 5 years. Being the Bishop means that I am responsible for the spiritual and temporal well being of the members that live within our ward boundaries. I enjoy this calling because it gives me the opportunity to work with the youth in the church as well as the adults. It is sometimes difficult since I also have a full time job but I am grateful to be able to serve my Heavenly Father.
