Hi I'm Lauri

I'm a wife. I'm a mother to 5 children. I'm very busy and very happy. And I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a wife and a mother. My husband and I have five wonderful children. I grew up in a large, loving family, so I always knew I wanted to be a Mom. My husband and I met at BYU and married in the Salt Lake City Temple 24 years ago. Having to wait much longer than we would have liked for children gave me a much greater appreciation for the miracle of motherhood. We were blessed to be able to adopt 3 beautiful girls through LDS Family Services. After struggling with infertility for seventeen years, we were blessed with a miracle: two boys, 10-1/2 months apart. I am grateful to know that families are ordained of God and can be together forever. My family is everything to me. I am very blessed to be able to raise my children full time. I enjoy weekly dates with my wonderful husband, spending time with my kids, playing the piano, experimenting with new recipes and keeping up with our family's blog.

Why I am a Mormon

I'm a Mormon because I have received a personal and undeniable witness that The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints is Jesus Christ's church restored through the Prophet Joseph Smith. I'm a Mormon because I know the way we are encouraged to live our lives is the way Jesus would want us to live. We are asked to study His life and emulate the way He lived. That makes perfect sense to me. Being a member of Christ's church helps me to know the purpose of my life. I know that God lives and that we are His children. I know that He is very aware of each one of us, that He loves us and that He desires to bless our lives. I know my Savior, Jesus Christ, paid the ultimate price for me. I am grateful for His Infinite Atonement and for the relationship I have developed with Him. I'm grateful to know my potential as a daughter of God. I know Heavenly Father desires for each one of us to have joy in this life and to return to His presence at the end of our life here. I know that through repentance and faithfully striving to live a Christlike life, we can be truly happy. My life has been richly blessed because of the Gospel of Jesus Christ.

How I live my faith

I currently have the opportunity to teach 16-18 year old girls in my ward. I love my interactions with them twice each week. It is exciting to see the stage of life they are preparing for and I'm continually amazed by their relationships with each other and with their Savior. I'm grateful for their courage and conviction as they face adversity, challenges and temptations each day at school. I observe these young women strive daily to do what is right, even when they have to stand alone. I'm very blessed because of their examples and I'm grateful for the special opportunity I have to be a part of their lives. I also strive to live my faith by visiting and teaching other women in my ward each month and setting aside time each day to study the Bible and The Book of Mormon both individually and as a family. Daily personal and family prayer also helps me focus on what is truly important. Daily communication with my Father in Heaven has become essential to my progression and helps bring joy, direction and a feeling of great peace into my life. I'm very grateful to know I can communicate with my Father in Heaven daily and that He does hear and answer my prayers.
