Hi I'm C. Puna Ellis

I'm a School Counselor, I'm a Bodysurfer, I'm a Coach and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

Husband and father of 3 wonderful children, who enjoys spending time with my family at beach, including bodysurfing and coaching youth soccer/futsal teams.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born into the church (4th generation), my parents taught my siblings and I correct principles and at a certain point in our lives allowed us to govern ourselves. I've always felt the LDS church was aligned to what I valued most and what I believe in terms of the gospel principles. I now continue the tradition and strive to teach my children the correct principles and one day, they too will decide what is best for them.

How I live my faith

I currently work with the youth of the church participating in Boy Scouts of America sponsored by the church and teach youth Sunday school lessons. My profession as a school counselor has helped me relate to the youth and their struggles in life and in return my experiences with the youth of the church have helped me relate to the youth with whom I work with professionally.

Are all Mormons required to serve a mission?

C. Puna Ellis
Short answer "NO", however the church has a strong tradition of missionary service and members of the church often look at missionary service as personal accomplishment and a short sacrifice in the eternal perspective. Show more Show less
