Hi I'm Lorrie

I'm a Mormon. I'm an Early Childhood Educator and I have three adult children of my own. My first grandchild is on the way.

About Me

After my children were grown I decided to return to school. Now my days are spent learning and growing with the young children in my care. Nature and the outdoors are very important part of my life. Whenever possible I fit a walk in my daily schedule.

Why I am a Mormon

When I was little it was common for people in the neighbourhood to go to church, at least occassionally. So, as a child I attended many different churches and those of my friends. My sister who was much older was a Mormon. And as a child she sometimes took me to The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. One day, after many years, she gave me a Book of Mormon. As I had decided her church was not the one for me I was a little hesitant to read the book. I decided to be more open minded and read it and that way I would be sure of my decision. To my amazement the book seemed very familiar to me. Though I had never read it before. By the time I had reached the third page I absolutely knew it was true! The words of the Book of Mormon were powerful. In my inner being I knew they were true.

How I live my faith

One of my callings is to be a Visiting Teacher. This something I very much enjoy. We get to know others in the church this way and it builds friendships. Also, have I volunteered to work with children in the community with a reading program that assists children.
