Hi I'm Aaron

I call the Sound of Music City Salzburg my home, I live in Vienna and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm the kind of guy that rides his bike to work everyday. I just love to do that. I ride it when the sun shines, when it rains or when it is snowing. And I live my life in a similar way: There are times when the sun shines and everything is perfect and there are times when I find myself amidst a snowstorm. But It's always up to me to keep on going and reach my destination. I love my wife and my children, I enjoy wandering around downtown Vienna and gaze at the historic buildings and statues, I love the smell of freshly mowed grass and I can't get enough of playing guitar.

Why I am a Mormon

I believe in God. I prefer to call him Heavenly Father. Throughout my life He has watched over all of my moves. The ones that made me happy and the ones that made me sad. He has never left me and He always helped me to move forward and do better. I'm a Mormon because I wanted a richer relationship with Heavenly Father. And it has worked for me. Almost every day I recognize how He is there for me. He tells me what to do when I feel lost, He tells me what to say when I try to help others that are lost. He shows me that He loves me and it makes my days special. Over the last few years, my relationship has grown tremendously.

How I live my faith

I live my faith in many different ways. I live my faith when I teach my 20 month old daughter to pray. I live my faith when I pray for a stranger that is in need of help. I live my faith when I teach my class on Sunday and share that experience about the stranger. I live my faith when I thank God for the spiritual experiences I have received.

Are Mormons Christians?

In order to be a christian, one should believe in Jesus Christ. The official church name is not "Mormons" but The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints because Jesus Christ is the center of our faith. So yes, Mormons are Christians. Show more Show less

Why don’t Mormons have paid clergy?

I believe it is save to say that God helps every person on this earth. I also believe that He doesn't get paid for it. I think He wants to teach us to serve selflessly one another just like He does. In that way we may learn to give willingly from our time and talents for those in need. And since the church doesn't have paid clergy, the money that is saved is used to bless Gods children through new meeting houses, the church welfare program or other important projects.
