Hi I'm Brock Lords

I'm a husband, I'm a sports fan, I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am from Las Vegas, Nevada, I am married to my best and truest friend. I attend Utah State University in Logan Utah and think it is the greatest university on Earth. I served a mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in the Brazil São Paulo South Mission and loved serving among the Brazilian people. I love the Lord and His Gospel.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints because it is what brings me true happiness. Whenever I feel alone, scared, or in doubt, I can always rely on the doctrines of the Gospel of Jesus Christ to bring light and life back into my life. I know that the only place we can find true and everlasting happiness is in living the Gospel. I am a Mormon because I want to live with my family forever.

How I live my faith

I live the Gospel by going about each day trying to be an example, and trying to be as Christlike as I can. When I mess up (because we all do) I take full advantage of the Atonement because IT WORKS. I live my faith by trying my best every day to serve someone. Whether it is clean a room, wash the dishes or pay for someone's meal at a restaurant, I always strive to find someone to serve. I try and develop Christlike attributes in order to show more love and respect for my Father in Heaven, my wife, and everyone around me.

What will the Mormon missionaries talk about when they visit my home?

Brock Lords
As a missionary, I had the opportunity to help people in any way I could. When the missionaries visit your home, they will learn about your life and learn about what you believe. Then, they will teach you the restored doctrine of The Church of Jesus Christ and allow you to grow upon the faith you already have established. If you do not have any religious beliefs, the missionaries will help you establish a foundation of Jesus Christ and allow you to make steps towards baptism and other ordinances we have in the church. How can we come to know our Father in Heaven?

Brock Lords
We can come to know our Father in Heaven the same way we learn about people we meet. Instead of looking at social media to see what they are like, we can read the scriptures and study the attributes of God and see what He is like. Instead of talking to a stranger and asking them questions to get to know them, you can get to know God by praying to Him, conversing with Him and asking about His characteristics. As you pray and read and apply your faith in our Heavenly Father, He will show you witnesses of His love for you. Show more Show less

How do I become a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (Mormon Church)?

Brock Lords
In order to become a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, you must do a few things. You first will start to develop faith in Jesus Christ as you attend our church meetings and learn about the restored gospel of Jesus Christ. You then will have a desire to repent and become right with God. After this, you are ready to become a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints by being baptized,or completely dunked in water, by one who has authority of God. Then you will have hands laid upon your head and receive the Gift of the Holy Ghost and be conferred a member of the Church. Show more Show less
