Hi I'm Kristy!

I grew up mostly in California, Utah, and Arizona. I'm an illustrator and a singer. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm a self taught artist who's grown up all over. = Im hoping to go back to school soon. I've worked my whole life to help support my family parents, siblings, never been married and to be able to be actively egaged in good activities. Including a mission in Micronesia ,Guam for the LDS church I speak Pohnpein, the native language of Pohnpei, the island I served on and communicate daily with friends from the island. I'm a rock climber but love doing canyons and hiking red rock just as much!!! Being outdoors is my favorite thing and what inspires a lot of my writing and artwork. I can also spend hours reading, Ray Bradbury, John Bellars , C.S Lewis, Ann Morrow Lindeberg and countless others. But I do have a tendency to get sucked into studying the gospel for hours as it also inspires my work and makes my heart happy. = I draw, paint, write, sing, and exercise every day. I love making new friends and learning about other people. That's me in a nutshell! =

Why I am a Mormon

My parents were active in the lds church when I was very younge but soon after choosing to be baptized at 8 was left to persue the church on my own. I love my Heavenly Father and Savior and it was made clear to me very younge that as I kept continual contact with them through prayer, study and worship I never would be alone. Spirituality and the bible was what was mostly taught in our home and is what helped me gain a testimony of the reality of My Savior and a deep desire to really know Him and follow Him. So I studied the bible, the Book of Mormon and at times the Doctorine and covenants on my own and The First Vision of the prophet Joseph Smith. I always felt right about it but also knew that God wanted me to know for sure and as promised in the Moroni chapter 8 (Book of Mormon), I needed to ask Him. So I did, and the confirmation I recieved from my Heavenly Father through the Holy Ghost was something that I could not deny. I continue to study and pray to know so that I may, " be ready always to give an answer to every man that asketh you a reason of the hope that is in you with meekeness and fear:" 1 peter 3:15. I know my Savior lives, I know that the fullness of the gospel has been restored, I know that we have living prophets on the earth today whom Jesus works through and that families can and will be together forever because God's power is on the earth once again. =) That's really why I'm a Mormon =)

How I live my faith

Following the example of Jesus Christ is not naturally an easy thing to do since I'm human but I love that I can worship at church every Sunday and be surrounded by other non perfect people trying their best too. I like to take Sundays off from the world and rest. After church I go for walks, read, listen to classical music and meditate. I also Spend quality time with family and friends. These are things I try to incorporate every day of the week but Sundays are a must. It helps me face the world with a new energy, confidence and light. I also go to a class one day a week where I can meet with other people my age and learn about and talk about the gospel. Its nice to know that I'm not alone. =) I love helping people so even on my walks I make a point to say hi to everyone and stop and ask those workin in the yard if they need an extra hand. I know I'm happier and feel closer to our Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ when I live this way. I also know I can be of more service to myself, my family, friends and really anyone I meet by not just doing these things but by being who my Savior made it possible for me to be.
