Hi I'm Rachel

I've lived in Japan, Britain, and Utah. I'm a wife, a runner, a writer, and a yogi. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I have a wonderful husband and a fantastic and diverse family. I am lucky to have many awesome and talented siblings, adopted siblings, step-siblings, step-parents, siblings-in-law, parents-in-law, grandparents, and, more recently, nieces and nephews. I am a college student studying business and enjoy my job as a secretary. I love trying new things, so I have many hobbies and interests. Among these are photography, running, yoga, sewing, camping, cooking, movie watching, slack-lining, writing, playing board games, reading, rock climbing, sketching, playing cello, dancing, doing martial arts, singing, swimming, crocheting, playing sports, and biking. While I may not be very good at some, or even most of the things I try, I firmly believe in finding the joy in every situation. In other words, I have fun doing just about anything!

Why I am a Mormon

I have yet to encounter a problem that I can't solve when I rely on Jesus Christ. His words, His example, His Atonement, and His love have seen me through every difficult time and every rocky patch I've experienced. It is because I know that He loves me and all of us, that I believe that He has not left us without guidance; specifically, a modern prophet on Earth through whom Christ speaks to us all. Through the blessed gifts of modern revelation through His prophet and personal revelation through the Holy Ghost, I believe that everyone can know God's specific will and divine love for them. Afterall, we are all His children, created in His image, and provided with the opportunity to gain eternal life in His presence. Why would He leave us alone?

How I live my faith

I love to serve in the Mormon church. Currently, I have the opportunity to teach children music every Sunday. I love to hear their sweet testimonies as they sing beautiful songs like "I Am a Child of God," "Follow the Prophet," and "I'm Trying to Be Like Jesus." I also get to work with the young women in my area to plan and run their annual Girl's Camp. This is fulfilling a dream of mine because some of my best spiritual experiences as a teenager occurred while I was attending Girl's Camp.
