Hi I'm Lauren

...and I'm a Mormon!

About Me

Right now i am serving a mission in Nagoya, Japan. It is the BEST!!!! Well, the first best thing was ofcourse being baptised. So, yes, I am a convert, but it feels like I have been a member for my whole life. I love adventure and I love my mission!!!

Why I am a Mormon

My first church experience was at a Seventh Day Adventist service when I was 16; my friend sang a beautiful song with her family. From then on, I wanted to keep hearing that song and songs like it. My other friend who was a baptist took me to her church because she said there was music there too! I started listening to the lyrics and asking questions. I had friends around me of so many different religions...so I asked them all. The light and good feelings that came from my Mormon friend were so strong, I just wanted to be like her. At that point, i had decided I would join her church because of the effect it had had on her family... but even though I had decided that, I wasn't quite prepared for the reality of the gospel's truth when it hit me. The Holy Ghost spoke to me in the first meeting, before we had even opened with a prayer. At that moment, I knew this was more than just another church, it was real and wasn't just some optimistic organisation with high standards. Of course I prayed about it, but that moment was the start and it is so very special to me. Since then, I have come to discover more and more just how special our church is. That it is the Savior's church and He guides it, and better yet, that He lives!!! I know that joining this church is the best decision I have made. Why am I Mormon? Because there's no faster way to happiness.

How I live my faith

I'm currently YSA rep in my ward. This means I'm in charge of making and organising activities for the young single adults. I look after the YSA relief society class by arranging who teaches each week, welcoming, and giving announcements. I have other responsibilities such as visiting teaching and the week before last I gave a talk in sacrament about the Word of Wisdom and how it is a blessing for women.
