Hi I'm Dave

I'm a skier, mountain biker, student, missionary, and I'm a Mormon

About Me

I am a Mormon missionary serving in the Romania Moldova mission and have been for the past year and a half. I love to ski, mountain bike, sail, rock climb, longboard, and do just about any sport in the mountains. I graduated from college with a two year degree at eighteen, and just let life happen and try to enjoy what comes my way. I love my family, and wouldn't be here in Romania without them. Growing up I always thought that skiing was my life and now I can see that it wasn't skiing that made me happy, it was skiing with my family and learning to enjoy being around them. So, I'm a skier that loves my family, I love to mountain bike with my brother and dad, I'm a student, I'm a missionary that is here because of the support of my family, and I'm a Mormon.

Why I am a Mormon

I'm a Mormon because without this church, I trully do not know where I would be right now, it has helped to shape me into a better person, and I can see all of the blessings that have come to me because I trust in my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. I have had some trials in my life that would have crushed me without the peace that the Gospel brings. Being a Mormon has given me a reason to live my life, it has given me a reason to keep moving forward, and that is amazing. I remember a time when I was injured because of skiing, I compressed a disk in my back, and it did some nerve damage. I remember waking up the day after it happened, it took me a good fifteen minutes to even get out of bed, and I thought to myself, why me, and then an overwhelming feeling of peace came to me, and I knew that everything would be ok, and that with the help of the Savior I would be able to make it through my trial and that everything would be ok. So far it has been and I have faith that everything will be ok, and without my faith as a Mormon, I wouldn't have had the strength to make it through the many trials I have had in my life. I'm a Mormon because I have prayed to know of the truth of the Book of Mormon and have received an answer to that prayer and to many others. Being a Mormon makes sense to me and it's simple. I can see the blessings from Lord and it can't get better than that.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by trying to do the best that I can, by helping those around me, and by serving the people of the World. I trust in the Lord, and try to love those that bug me, and those that I wouldn't get along with. Life is to good to let it go by with hate in my heart It's also much to short to live it with regrets. So I try to not carry hate with me and try to never look back with regret. I have had many trials in my life, and in everyone of those trials, I would not have been able to make it through without the help of the Savior. I also live my faith by being here in Romania serving the Lord and the people of Romania. Because I know the truth of the message that I carry, it makes me want to share it with everyone that I talk with.

Why do Mormon missionaries proselyte?

Dave
Well, being a missionary I would love to share why I am here. I'm a proselyting missionary because I know the blessings that I have been given and I simply want to share those blessings with all those that will listen to what I have to say. It's not something easy easy to do, to leave our family and friends for two years, but it is so worth it. I love sharing a message with the world about how the gates of Heaven are still open today and about how much God loves each and every one of us. It is just an amazing experience and I'm just glad that I can be here and see how the Gospel can change the lives of others. Show more Show less
