Hi I'm Jonathan

I am a cellist, a soccer and ultimate frisbee player, a ballroom dancer, I love a good book and I am a Mormon.

About Me

I am a college student that loves playing soccer and ultimate frisbee. I love having a good time with friends and I really enjoy some healthy competition. I also enjoy music. I love listening to classical music but also alternative rock and jazz. I play the cello and the piano. I enjoy playing video games while listening to Beethoven, Bach, and Chopin. I claim to be a ballroom dancer. When my Mom first convinced my to take a social dance class in high school I protested but finally relented. Turns out that I love it! Moral of the story? Listen to your Mom. :) I can sit and read good books forever. One of my punishments growing up was that my parents would take away my books. It didn't take long for me to learn to listen to my parents. Otherwise I didn't have anything to read and that was a sad day. Once again, listen to your Mom.

Why I am a Mormon

Around the age of 14 there were a lot of people saying that I was the same age as Joseph Smith when he first prayed to know which church to join. I realized that I really didn't have a testimony of my own yet so I decided to get one. I followed the counsel given in the last chapter in the Book of Mormon (Moroni 10:3-5) and read, pondered, and prayed about the Book of Mormon. I felt in my heart that it was true and ever since then my testimony has been growing. I know that this is God's true and living church upon the face of the earth. I know that Jesus Christ suffered and died for us and then resurrected so that we may all live again. I know that Joseph Smith was a prophet of God and that he translated the Book of Mormon which is a true witness of the divinity of Jesus Christ and His atonement. I know that Thomas S. Monson is the living prophet on earth today and that he leads and guides the church of Jesus Christ under the direction on our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by striving to do what my Savior would every second of every day. At baptism that is what I essentially promised to do and I am trying to make good on my promises. In return our Heavenly Father promises us that He will send us the Holy Ghost to lead and guide us. I try and follow the promptings that come from my Heavenly Father through the Holy Ghost having faith that no matter what it is I feel I should do that it is right and will work out for the best. I have seen the evidences of that in my life and I want everyone everywhere to feel the same type of joy and peace that I have felt because I followed those prompting. Our Father in Heaven loves us and wants us to be happy. When we keep His commandments and follow His guidance we are happy. Pretty cool, right?
