Hi I'm Stephanie

I grew up in Southern California. I have lived throughout the United States. I am a redhead. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I love to sing, dance, cook, and even clean--sometimes I do these things all at the same time. I also love teaching children. I received my Bachelor's degree in Elementary Education and am now teaching kindergarten at a school in my community. I enjoy family time with my husband and we look forward to having a family of our own someday.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because I know that God is truly my Heavenly Father. I know he cares for me. I see His love everyday I wake up because I am still alive and can enjoy the beauty of the earth and the people on it. I also know He listens to me because I feel that I am truly talking to someone face-to-face as I pray. I am a Mormon because I know Jesus Christ is my Savior and as I live the teachings He shared with the people at Jerusalem and in ancient America, I feel happy and full of joy. I am a Mormon because I know the heavens are open again and God has chosen prophets today who speak His will for His children. I am Mormon because of the joy I feel when I read, study, and ponder the scriptures--both the Bible and Book of Mormon. I am a Mormon because I feel that the Gospel of Jesus Christ has been restored to the earth and that The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is the church that contains the fulness of that Gospel.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by getting up every morning and starting my day with my Heavenly Father. I do this by praying to him personally, then I read the words of His prophets found in the Bible, Book of Mormon, and the Ensign (a magazine The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints publishes that contains the words of the prophet today). I also live my faith by participating in meetings at church. On Sundays I attend 3 meetings that are each 1-hour long. It may seem like a lot, but the joy I feel in the meetings during that time makes me want to stay even longer. One of the meetings on Sunday is a class for young girls and I have the wonderful opportunity to teach it. I teach these girls about the scriptures and we discuss these scriptures, what it means to be a true Christian, and how to live Christian values. On Wednesdays I go to church again for 1 hour. This time it is for the youth program. I teach young girls again and we participate in wholesome activities. It is wonderful to work with these girls and see their belief in Christ in action. Last I live my faith by striving to be like Christ (i.e., kind, loving, sincere, and honest). I try to treat my colleagues at work, the children I teach, and especially my family and friends the way Christ would treat them. I am not perfect, but I try to do my best. However, when I need to improve I ask for forgiveness from my Heavenly Father and from those I have offended. Then I go out and strive to be and do better.
