Hi I'm Christine

I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm an aunt to 12 nieces and nephews. A sister to four brothers and one sister. A friend to people all over the world. I'm a learner and always try to take a class to learn something new even if it's work related. I'm a music maker--I sing and play the piano. I am in the Navy Reserve and have traveled lots of cool places: England, Germany, Italy, Australia, Guam, Malta, Kenya, Afghanistan. I enjoy meeting people and seeing new places.

Why I am a Mormon

I'm a Mormon, because I believe in the gospel of Jesus Christ. I know Christ lives and he paid for sins and my life. I find great peace and fulfillment in living the gospel of Jesus Christ. I know my prayers are heard and answered. The gospel of Jesus Christ helps me find my purpose and understand how I fit into this life. It's not easy to figure that out, but my relationship with Heavenly Father and Jesus helps me do that. By following the teachings of Christ and modern day prophets, I know I can fulfill God's plan for me.

How I live my faith

I live my faith every day in the little things I do. People at work are always commenting that I'm happy and nice. I attribute this to living the gospel. Christ teaches us to be kind and happy, and throughout my life I've tried to do these things. It's easy to smile at others when I know who I am and that God loves me.

What is the Law of Chastity?

God wants us to have full life experiences and to eventually become like him. This life is about learning to be like him. It's a kind of rehearsal if you will. God gives us rules, that help us to be more like him if we will be obedient to them. The law of chastity is one of those rules. Keeping the law of chastity means no sexual relations with anyone outside of marriage. If you're married then you only have sexual relations with your spouse. If you're single, then it means no premarital sexual relations. Procreation is powerful and sacred. It's the power to create life! And what is more God-like than creating life? God wants us to use this power carefully and ideally with only one person to whom we are married. A husband and wife who share in the power of procreation through sexual relations are sharing in God's life giving power. No wonder he wants us to carefully use this power. Some think the law of chastity is only about saving intercourse for marriage, i.e., remaining a virgin, and that everything outside of that is fair game. I don't think this is the case. I think it's about where our hearts and minds are. A friend of mine wrote that "God is after our hearts." Choosing to be chaste and virtuous help us keep our hearts and minds in the right place and on God's will for us. It's easier to hear his voice when we are obedient. The law of chastity is not easy to live, but it is worth it. I know blessings come from following this commandment. Show more Show less
