Hi I'm Krista

I grew up in California. I'm a marketer, a runner, a volunteer, a roommate, a world traveler, a friend...I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I work in Marketing full-time and am also a full-time student. I took a long break from college to work and find my own direction and recently went back to finish my Bachelor's degree. I play lots of sports, particularly volleyball and basketball and spend the bulk of my free time either with family, friends, or volunteering. I recently went to Africa on a service trip and learned more from the beautiful children and people there than they ever could have learned from me. With every new day and new person I meet I learn more about the kind of parent I want to be. Spending time with my parents, siblings, nieces and nephews is by far my favorite way to spend a day.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born into the church and into a family of strong LDS members. As a kid it was easy to go to church and spend time with my friends at church. When I moved away from home I had to figure out my own path and that path was still very clearly pointed in the way of the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Through both happy times and hardships I've never felt alone; He's always there. I'm able to see God's hand in everything around me and more pointedly in those difficult times. He's carried me through difficult times with his tender mercies by bringing a much needed friend back around or presenting me with opportunities to serve that have redirected me to focus on the blessings I'm given each day. I know that Jesus Christ suffered for me personally, for every bit of pain on this earth, and knowing that He did that for me is a constant reminder of the good I can do for others.

How I live my faith

As a single person I attend a singles' ward, surrounded by other young adults in a similar place in life as I. I have the opportunity to serve in callings within my ward to uplift, teach, and learn from those around me. One calling that has been a constant blessing for me is that of visiting teaching, when I have the opportunity to go visit other women and some also visit me. Putting myself aside and being able to visit with someone who is in need of comfort or even just a friend has taught me so much about love and the Lord's love for each of us on this earth. No matter how different we all are, we are all sons and daughters of God, each and every one of us. I also have the opportunity to plan events and meals for my entire ward to come together and socialize and get to know one another. This calling has been one of my favorites as it's allowed me to tap into my organizational talents and do some event planning that I've always been passionate about.
