Hi I'm Mark

I grew up in Provo, Utah, USA. I enjoy spending time with my family and riding a dirt bike on surrounding mountain trails.

About Me

My wife and I met while working at the same company, set up through a mutual acquaintance, we are now the proud parents of six wonderful children. I'm a self-employed graphic designer and have worked in that industry for the past 24 years. I love spending time with my family fishing, playing golf, motorcycling in our mountains and deserts, hiking or simply relaxing at home with them. My favorite book is Les Miz and I love watching John Wayne western movies.

Why I am a Mormon

My parents were both Mormom and they lived exemplary Christ-like lives. Their love for the church and for the Lord helped foster the seeds of faith in my own heart that have helped me come to know for myself that the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints is true. I know as members of the human family we all have a loving Heavenly Father who is real, who is mindful of us and who has a plan to enable us to return to His presence. I know we have a Savior in Jesus Christ. He lived a perfect life and fulfilled the mission he was sent here to earth to do. His life and atonement make it possible for all to return to live with him and our Heavenly Father again if we strive to live as He did, live His commandments and embrace the covenants He has made possible. This knowledge didn't come to me as a singular experience, but rather as a number of impressions from the Spirit as I've prayed, read the scriptures, and listened to the words of our prophets and leaders. I've also come to know through personal impressions and feelings of the Spirit that the Book of Mormon is a true book and is a complimentary companion scriptural record to the Bible. They are both separate witnesses that Jesus Christ lives and established His church upon the earth. I have found that regularly reading the scriptures helps start my day off on the right note and provides guidance when I face difficult challenges. I know that life does not end with death, but that families will continue in the next life. This is made possible through priesthood ordinances available in our church's temples. My parents have both passed away, but I find great comfort in knowing that someday I will see them and be able to be with them again if I honor the covenants I've made in the temple.

How I live my faith

As a Mormom I strive to help my local ward or congregation by serving along with the members of our ward. Currently I serve in a leadership position that stretches me beyond my comfort zone, but I'm learning to rely and trust in the Lord to make up for those areas I may feel inadequate. My church service includes working with the youth, going on scout camps, and taking time each month to visit the homes of specific members of my local ward to see how they are doing and provide them with a spiritual thought. I've found I'm happiest when I'm doing what I can in my small way to help and bless the lives of those around me and have always found that whatever I've given in the way of time has always come back to me in positive ways by buoying up my spirits and helped me to feel of the Saviors love for me in a more personal way. I strive to honor those who have gone before me, by living as they lived. I'm still learning what it means to be truly Christ-like, but His way is the only real way to true happiness.
