Hi I'm Ashley

I live in Alberta Canada and I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I've been married to my best friend for only a year now. We don't have children yet but fill our time with work and as my husband goes to school I work my hardest to provide for us both. More than anything we love to be outside. We snowboard, hike, rock climb, backpack, snowshoe, and love to play volleyball, basketball, soccer, rugby and badminton. For our down time we enjoy watching movies, playing games with friends or just visiting with family around a nice warm outside fire. Our family is everything to us. We both come from medium sized families and most of our times goes to activities with them. We're in the process of working through school to end up in a career in dentistry. We're hoping to move somewhere completely different then where we grew up. For an adventure I guess. We can't wait to start a family and travel one day. Those are two of our big goals for the future. A bit about just me: I have an addiction to reading! I have my nose in a book a lot. But I also love to do crafts, learn to do new things. Currently I am learning more about gardening and helped this year with one we'll be able to enjoy in the fall. I also love to decorate my house. One day I'd LOVE to go to school for interior design. As of right now I'm enjoying my career choice as an office administrator.

Why I am a Mormon

Why I'm mormon is a pretty broad statement, so I'll share my favorite reasons. I grew up in the church and chose not to follow the things I was taught for a period of time. In that time I made mistakes, grew and learned so much. The most important thing I learned was that I needed the gospel. Why? Because of the power and strength it gave me just from knowing who I was; a daughter of God. To know that meant more then anything to me but I didn't realize it till those teachings were set aside for what I thought was better. I then chose, on my own, to gain my own understanding. I couldn't have made a better choice. So first I am a Mormon because I know the importance of being a daughter of God. Second, because I've felt the confirmation of the spirit of God that what I've learned and put into action in my life are true. Not only true but a foundation of light and truth in my life. My third and most important reason is that my relationship with my Savior, Jesus Christ is more important to me then anything else in my life and as a Mormon our focus is just that. I know these are His teachings bringing me closer to Him. There is no doubt in my mind.

How I live my faith

This is so important to me because why be a part of something then watch from the side lines? My relationship with my Savior is the most important thing to me and when you have a relationship with someone you show them how much you love them, care for them, respect them and you always listen to them. With out these actions you just know someone; well I want to have a relationship with my Savior not just know him. When I live what he teaches me I feel closer to Him, doing what he would do. Serving others, no matter who they are, what faith they are and doing it from the goodness of your heart not just to look good. Attending all my church meetings and full-filling all my callings in the church are so important too because one person can't spread and teach the gospel its an effort from everyone. And not only is it to help others but ourselves. We learn and grow so much by doing. I also try my hardest to study and read my scriptures at home and pray always. The little things are the most important. How can we conquer the harder things when we can't even master the small ones; so because I'm human and can't be perfect at something I'll always be doing these things to learn and grow, ultimately to strengthen and create that relationship with my Savior.
