Hi I'm Kara

I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am married to my best friend and together we have six beautiful children; 4 boys and 2 girls. When my first son came I chose to be a stay-at-home mom and it was one of the best decisions I have made. It is the hardest, most rewarding job I have ever had. I am passionate about photography and love to read. I'm currently working on writing a novel that I hope will one day be published.

Why I am a Mormon

I grew up in a Latter-day Saint home where the gospel of Jesus Christ was taught. I always knew the gospel was true, but there came a time in my life when I felt it was important for me to make the decision on my own. I read my scriptures and prayed to know if it was true and right and was not surprised that what I had known all my life to be true, was in fact true. The Gospel has brought many blessings to my life and to the lives of those around me. By paying tithing, attending church each Sunday and participating in the programs of the church I have been blessed. After being married for five years my husband and I moved about 30 hours away from my family. It was one of the hardest things I have ever done. As I opened up and made new friends I realized that I could be happy anywhere the Lord sends me. We have moved a few times since them and each time it gets a little bit easier. I know that Heavenly Father has a plan for each of us and that he knows what's best for us. He can guide us to do those things that will benefit our lives. I know that we have a Savior who died for us so that we can repent of our sins and return to live with our Father in Heaven one day. I know that the Book of Mormon is another testament of Jesus Christ and is a companion scripture to the Bible. Reading it daily can help us to become better people. Being a Mormon brings great joy and blessings to my life.

How I live my faith

I attend church each Sunday and am in charge of making sure we have a lesson, music and a teacher for the Women's meeting. I support my children as they participate in Cub Scouts and the Scouting programs at our church each Wednesday. I love participating in the activities that are planned for the Women's Group, which allow us to get together on a regular basis and learn new skills, perform service, and get to know one another better. I also am assigned to visit 4 ladies each month. This is called Visiting Teaching. We go, with an assigned companion, and visit with these ladies. Through this program we get a chance to become friends rather than acquaintances.
