Hi I'm Robert

I am a father of three great sons. One is serving a mission. I'm a Mormon, but I prefer Latter-day Saint. Rise up men of God!!!

About Me

I was born in Atlanta, GA. I have spent most of my life in and around the Atlanta Metro, except for the period of time in the college and the military. I am an ordinary guy who does ordinary things. I work and serve in the church when called to. As of late I have spent most of my free time writing and helping to facilitate two writing groups. I am hoping to build an organization to help aspiring writers find the help and support they need to become great writers. My group is called the Twin Oaks Writers Group and our motto is We are great oaks. I enjoy all types of music. I listen mostly to jazz and inspirational. I golf when I can afford it. I go to the movies all the time. And, I just write and write. Unless a fellow writer has something they want reviewed. My most favorite quote is from the Lion King where Pumba says, "you've got to put your behind in the past."

Why I am a Mormon

I am LDS because I had a desire to learn the skills to become a better husband and parent. So, I prayed for that and I feel God led me to the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saint. I can't say I have become a perfect husband or parent, but it is more a reflect of me and my striving to become better and more like our Heavenly Father and our brother, Jesus the Christ. I joined the church out of the desire to do better by my wife and children, but the brothers and sisters I affiliate with now have given me more than I come have ever imagined or hoped for. The nearly two hundred years of work has resulted in something beyond belief. I place that teaches you the principles and value to not just be a good person but a great child of God.

How I live my faith

I live my faith primarily by being constantly conigzant of the presence of God in my life through the Holy Spirit. I feel its presence and influence continually, daily, and is ever mindful of the need to stand in good light. I live my faith by attending church every Sunday. I feel like the only way to be available to receive from God is the be present and available. That is how we receive blessings. And, to be mindful that those blessing come in all forms, especially in our daily lives. I live my faith my constantly reading and pondering the gospel, histories and other virtuous things that give me more insight into self, family, friends and God "You've to put your behind in the past." All those bad things, all those things that tend to tie us down, keep us weak, you've got to put those bad things down, those things that allowed you to show your behind... you've got to put them in the past. All those habits and addiction we feel we are free to do that are supposedly bringing enjoyment to our lives, but truly do not allow us to be free. Poor habits and addictions never was freedom. Come on. Put it behind you.
