Hi I'm Matt

I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I was born in Aurora Illinois but was raised on the island of Oahu in a town called Laie. I like the outdoors and the indoors, but above all else i love the gospel of Jesus Christ.

Why I am a Mormon

I'm a Mormon because I've come to know that The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints is not "the Mormon church" but is JESUS CHRIST'S one true church. I'm a Mormon because I know that only by living God's commandments can we truly experience real, lasting happiness and peace in this life and eternal happiness in the life to come. Only through Christ can we return to live once again with God, our Heavenly Father who knows and loves each and every one of us individually. I'm a Mormon because I've come to know that the Book of Mormon is true! I know this because I've read it and asked God, to know for myself, whether or not it is true. He has answered this prayer and countless others. I cannot deny that. Because the Book of Mormon is true Joseph Smith was a prophet called of God and was given the the authority to act in His name and to restore His one true church, the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, back on the earth again. Anyone can find out for themselves if this is true by simply reading the Book of Mormon with an open heart and mind and then by asking God, who will never lie or deceive us, if the Book is true. I am a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints for many different reasons but the overriding reason is that it is true. It is Jesus Christ's one true church and I want to unite myself with Him and His Gospel.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by striving to become the person that Jesus Christ knows I can become. Studying His gospel and then working to apply it into my life and helping others to do the same.

Do Mormons worship Joseph Smith?

Nope. We recognize and honor him for his role in Christ's Church being restored back to the earth, but our faith and everything else we do is centered around Jesus Christ. We worship God, our Eternal Father in heaven, and Jesus Christ, no one else. Show more Show less

Do Mormons regard the Bible as Holy Scripture and the word of God?

Yes! The Bible is the word of God and so we most definitely regard it as holy scripture. We use the King James version. I especially love the New Testament because we get to learn so much about our Saviour Jesus Christ's earthly life, what He did for us and how he wants us to live our lives. Show more Show less
