Hi I'm Matt

I was born in Utah, and grew up in Arizona. I am a medical resident. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am still working to finish my training for a career in medicine. In my free time, I enjoy reading, spending time with friends and family, fishing, watching movies, and learning about new things. I also try to be healthy while still enjoying some of my favorite treats, like ice cream! I love dogs and had two dogs while I was growing up. I hope to raise more dogs when I have my own house and a family.

Why I am a Mormon

Although I was raised in the church, I have chosen to be active and continue my membership in the church throughout my life. Primarily, the reason I do so is because I believe in God and Jesus Christ. I know they are real. The knowledge of the existence of Jesus Christ has given me an awareness that He expects things from me and has tried to teach me by His example and His words how to be happy and how to live so that I can please Him. The church has blessed my life so much by helping me to learn about Jesus and to learn about how to live more like Him. Additionally, I have read the Book of Mormon: Another Testament of Jesus Christ, and I believe that it is a true book of scripture. The Book of Mormon has taught me alot about Jesus. It teaches about Him, and it teaches how to live so that we can return to live with Him after this life. When I read the Book of Mormon, I feel a desire to do good and be good.

How I live my faith

I enjoy attending my church meetings. I try to read my scriptures often and pray often. Doing so helps me to feel God's influence in my life. Often, I have visited members of my congregation in their homes to discuss the gospel. We call it "Home Teaching," and I enjoy it because it helps me to get to know my neighbors better, and to make great friends. Recently, I taught a sunday school class for young children. I enjoyed it a lot, and was surprised by how much little kids know about Jesus. It seemed like they hardly had to be taught about Jesus and His teachings because they seemed to know it intuitively. Because I am in a congregation of young single adults, I have the opportunity to participate in a lot of social activities. We play volleyball and other games, have lessons about the gospel, and serve others.

What do Mormons believe about family?

Matt
We believe that families are really important. We believe that families are the most important unit of society. We try to strengthen our families by having regular family prayers, attending church together, working together, and playing together. We believe that because of the Atonement of Jesus Christ, families can be together forever even in the next life - if they will follow Jesus and keep His commandments. I love my family a lot and I want to be with them forever. Show more Show less
