Hi I'm Mario Cardona

I'm a soccer fanatic. I love to travel. I will one day own a line of environmentally friendly five star hotels. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

Hey there, I'm Mario! Currently I'm an advertising director for a security company. I love working in sales, it is one of the most powerful forms of human communication we can use. Relaying information while creating a relationship of trust so that both parties can reach a mutual agreement is beautiful to me, since that can only be achieved with a foundation of sincerity, and integrity. More people use it than they realize is the funniest thing though. I've had the opportunity to travel the United States because of my work, and with that I've been welcomed into many individuals homes who I met that day. The best part about it is that it gives me an opportunity to learn hospitality in many forms, so many different cultures and backgrounds that I meet with give me an opportunity to learn about different interpretations of what it is to welcome a stranger. With that, it's inspired me to work towards starting my own business in the hospitality industry, I'm heading back to school to gain an education in architecture to learn how to create environmentally friendly high end hotels, my intention is to use the individual qualities of each location to expose the beauty of the region I happen to be working in. I'm excited for an opportunity to give back in a similar fashion to how I've been treated by many different communities. Really, I just love to travel and watch soccer, there is nothing better than vacation and the beautiful game!

Why I am a Mormon

I'm a Mormon because I found that there is no other way for me to be happy. I grew up in the Church, and sadly I feel like that limited my ability for me to fully appreciate the beauty that the Gospel can bring to any individuals life. Trying to find out what really was necessary for true joy and happiness I walked away from what the Church had taught me and became enveloped in worldly activities and priorities. That was the emptiest I've ever felt in my life, simple joys couldn't be appreciated because in the back of my mind I had the lingering thought that I was betraying what was important for true happiness. I tried more to reject and mask the growing pain I felt from separating myself from my Heavenly Father and eventually I just broke. I knew that there was never going to be any sincere satisfaction from continuing in the direction I was headed. I felt that God wouldn't want me back for having disrespected him the way I had, but I prayed anyways. I bowed my head, and asked God if he really recognized me as his son to please help me understand his love again. I received my answer, he does love me, and that was all I needed to know to come back. Since then I've dedicated myself to improving myself through the example of the only flawless being to walk this earth, Jesus Christ. My joy was restored, and the effort necessary to bring me to that was indescribably simple compared to the work needed to destroy myself. There is no other joy comparable to that knowledge of Christ's love for me and that he has endured all and more to know my struggles and pain, to know that he continues to love us by ensuring that his gospel and church are properly maintained in these days with a foundation of Prophets and Apostles and that I never will be lost so long as I heed their counsel. I'm glad that there is scripture for me to study, that was written with the knowledge that I would need to find answers that can only be revealed through their experience. It's beautiful!

How I live my faith

I do what I can to contribute to the effort that the Church is making. Currently I'm privileged to be responsible for the set up of our chapel before we meet on Sunday. It allows me to be inside the church alone and contemplate and recognize what I'm accomplishing for the souls of every individual that will be occupying the room the next day. It helps me realize that I'm not alone in my necessity for the blessings provided by my Heavenly Father. Along with that, I'm asked to meet with any new faces and welcome them to the congregation so they can understand how happy we are to have them with us, sometimes being new and alone is an intimidating experience and I try to ensure that there is no need for fear when choosing to enter a place dedicated to heavenly worship. To most people it seems like these are insignificant and inconsequential towards establishing a sense of community, but I realize that without it we couldn't focus on what's most important, which is feeling loved and feeling the Spirit, because we'd be distracted with other tasks, and insecurities. My favorite thing is Home Teaching, that allows me and a companion to meet with members of the congregation and visit their homes to deliver spiritual messages, and to provide service in any way possible. I enjoy it because I love to make friends and make people smile, there is no better opportunity than this. I love getting to know a persons true character, and while interacting having them teach me too, people who I would've never met before get to enter my life and improve it just by being there.
