Hi I'm Jessie

I drive a motorcycle. I play music. I speak Spanish. I want to travel the world and share the truth. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a college student, where I (a) study Linguistics and Spanish, (b) have a job as an English writing tutor for English-language learners, and (c) spend time with friends, playing music, reading, or cooking. I love my family. I am going to serve a mission for my church in Guatemala in 2013!

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because this Gospel is true. I have felt the Holy Spirit throughout my life (moreso when I am willing to listen), leading and guiding me, comforting and strengthening me. Sometimes I pray for answers to problems, and I receive direct answers in my mind that did not come from me, but from God. Sometimes I pray for help, and a friend or stranger is inspired to help me, though they do not know why. Through experiences of communing with God, I have come to know Him. I am happier living a life of faith.

How I live my faith

In my church I've had so many opportunities to serve! Some of the big ones are that I've been a Sunday School teacher and I have been on committees to organize service opportunities for the community and fun social events. I have had other opportunities, however, that are smaller. Every month I try to visit and serve a couple of my sisters in my congregation, whether I'm just giving them a listening ear or some food so they don't have to cook for themselves. Mostly I just try to be a good person and follow the promptings that I receive from my Father in Heaven via His Spirit. I am currently preparing for a mission to serve the people in Guatemala, and I can't wait!
