Hi I'm Stephanie

I grew up all over the United States. I'm a wife. I'm a mom. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

My father was in the Navy my entire childhood, and for me, that meant moving at least once a year. It was difficult at times, but it truly opened up the world to me. I even attended kindergarten in Taiwan! I am the wife of an incredible man, and have two beautiful daughters. I love being a stay-at-home mom, and it fulfills me like nothing else I have ever done. I love to travel the world, spend time with my family, decorate my home, and entertain friends and family.

Why I am a Mormon

Why am I a mormon? My parents were raised members of the Church of Jesus Christ of latter-day Saints, but when I was young stopped attending church. Over the years, they looked at other religions, and took us with them, but although they met kind and loving people, it wasn't the same. The first time we attended the Mormon church again when I was 17, it truly felt like "coming home". I had know that entire time that someday I would attend the Mormon church again when I was older... but this was a dream come true! The principles taught, make the challenges we face so much easier. When told that our church has "too many rules" I just laugh and explain that I have more freedom because of my choice to follow the commandments. I am free from worry about addiction. I don't have to decide who I am or where I am going. My life has purpose and direction. I know that my family is going to be with me forever. Having two teenage daughters, I really feel the guidance from our Loving Father in Heaven. They are faced with so much at school and in the world, and I know that their father and I couldn't do it without the gospel! The youth programs help our children to realize their divine nature and individual worth. I know that the Savior lives. I know that God lives. I know that they know who I am and what I need. I know that they understand my strengths and weakness and will help me to overcome anything that comes my way. I know that by being obedient I can have the constant companionship of the Holy Ghost. I know that Joseph Smith restored the Gospel of Jesus Christ to the earth and translated the Book Of Mormon. I know that the Preisthood has been restored to the earth. I know that President Monson is a prophet of God, and that he leads this church today. I know that the Gospel of Jesus Christ has made all the difference in my life, and gives me courage to face whatever lies ahead. I am a Mormon.

How I live my faith

I currently get to teach a class for the women of my ward once a month. I teach from talks given by leaders of our church, which is great! My husband is currently serving as the Bishop of our ward, and has been doing so for just over a year. This has been a great blessing for our family, and although it requires a lot of time and effort on his part, I know we are blessed for his service. I know that much of how I live My Faith, is because of his service. As the wife of the Bishop, it affects my life greatly. It requires me to have compassion for him, and for those he serves. I need to be understanding and supportive. As the Bishop a great deal of his time is spent helping those who are struggling with challenges and trials, and his greatest joy is to watch members of our ward "overcome" and gain a knowledge of how much our Father in Heaven loves them. I know that our family are examples to the members of our ward, and it is really important to me that we are doing all of the things he is telling others to do. I LOVE the gospel of Jesus Christ and it is easy for me to want to LIVE it! I have had people ask me when traveling..."What are you so happy about..." What we feel and know on the inside, shows on the outside! It is who I am.
