Hi I'm Carl

I am a research scientist. I grew up in California. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a semi-retired scientist. I worked for the government in weather research which I enjoyed very much. I feel fortunate to have worked in a field that has always kept my interest and fascination. There was always more to learn and there have been many technologies applied to improving weather forecasting. That has also been an appealing part of work, so the marriage of technology and science has been my life's work.

Why I am a Mormon

I was raised in a Mormon family, but at some point an individual needs to know for themselves if what they believe is true. I have experienced the power of the Gospel in my own life and observed it in others. Having read the Book of Mormon dozens of times, I personally know of its veracity.

How I live my faith

To be a disciple of Christ requires constant effort and consistent striving to live the commandments and principles He taught. Our efforts are necessary but not sufficient since Christ's grace is essential to our overcoming the influences of this world. It requires humility which is not a natural trait for most of us. Prayer is required. Service is required. Studying the scriptures to seek divine guidance and a spiritual renewal is required. I do these things, not as consistently as I should to be sure, but they are the foundation of how I live my religion.
