Hi I'm Emily

I grew up on the east coast. I like exploring new places and seeing things off the beaten path. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a full time college student with an optimistic view of life. I'm learning how to play the guitar and I love all kinds of art. I have a natural curiosity about people and will travel the world someday to experience things first hand. I love my life.

Why I am a Mormon

I was baptized into the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints when I was almost 10 years old. I took the missionary discussions with my older sister and was so excited to be baptized. However, when I was about 12 or 13 I stopped coming to church, as did the rest of my family, and life went on. Then when I was 15 I had the feeling that things weren't how they should be. That's not to say that life was horrid, but it just wasn't right. So I asked my dad (who is not a member) to start driving me to church on Sunday's because I didn't really have any other ideas, and he agreed. So I began going to church again and reading my scriptures and praying to Heavenly Father and before I knew it my life just seemed so much better and I hadn't even known what exactly was wrong with my life before. I was a good kid and didn't get into trouble, but I knew that I needed and deserved something more out life, so I went to the only place I thought could help me find that. Over the years I've continued to study the scriptures, attend my church services, and pray to Heavenly Father for personal revelation and my testimony has grown everyday. I know that Joseph Smith was a prophet who restored the true church to the earth. I know that President Thomas S. Monson is the living prophet today who guides us and leads us. I know that my Heavenly Father loves me unconditionally and irrevocably and that I couldn't possibly comprehend all that he has in store for me if I stay close to him. I know that he loves you and everyone else just as much and always will. I know that my Savior Jesus Christ loved us enough to Atone for our sins and suffer every pain that we would ever feel so that we won't have to suffer alone when times get hard. I know that Heavenly Father has a divine plan for me and that he can't wait for the day when I can return to him and have eternal life- and I know the same goes for you, too. I know without a doubt that this church is true, and that is why I'm a Mormon.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by following the promptings of the Holy Spirit and doing the things that the Lord asks of me. I fulfill my callings whether it be Relief Society Secretary or Primary Teacher for a class of 5 year olds. I used to give lessons to young girls on Virtue and Divine Nature and encourage them to bare their testimonies in order to strengthen their own and uplift someone else as well. I live my faith by doing the things that I know are right and encouraging others to do the same.
