Hi I'm Melinda

I grew up in Idaho and moved to Oregon when my husband was going to school. I am a middle school choir teacher and I am a Mormon.

About Me

I am the mother of three wonderful children and, along with my husband, we love to spend time as a family. We laugh a lot at our house, which helps keep us close. We also love to sing and make music together. My husband is a professional singer and I am a choir teacher, so there has always been a love of music in our household. I also love to bake and garden.

Why I am a Mormon

I have always been a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. My mother is Mormon but my dad is Catholic. He has been very supportive of us and both of my brothers served missions for the LDS church. I have great admiration for my mother since she took all five children to church by herself every Sunday. What a great example she has been for me! However, I have also learned that our Heavenly Father loves all of his children and that there are good people in every religion. I am trying to follow my Savior's example to be kind and loving to all those I meet. I know by following His example and being obedient, I will be happy and be able to return to his presence some day.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by attending church every Sunday. There I am able to be spiritually uplifted and feel part of an extended family. We all take care of each other and I know if I have a need, physically or spiritually, someone will be there to help me. Service is a big part of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints and it always feels good to help others.
