Hi I'm Bobby Dove

I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I was born in Alexandria VA. I currently live now is southwest VA. I love to fish, hunt, hike, ride bikes, go swimming. I love pretty much anything that has to do with the outdoors. I also enjoy watching movies and playing Xbox still a kid at heart I guess. I love quiet time alone to read and study the Book of Mormon and grow closer to my Lord Jesus Christ.

Why I am a Mormon

Before I found the church I had pretty much gave up on religion. I was raised in a strict Pentecostal Holiness home. I had convinced myself that I didn't need God in my life and I had not been to church in over ten years I guess. My life had begun to spin out of control and I felt I was being dragged to my end. Several times the devil had convinced me that life was not worth living. I let him rob me of my identity and my joy. The devil had convinced me that life was not worth living and he tried several times to convince me to end my life. After a couple of failed attempts the devil kept trying harder and harder to convince me to end it all. That night as I was laying on the couch watching tv I saw this Mormon commercial come on and being raised Pentecostal I quickly turned the channel. Then the strangest thing happened. Every channel I went to when a commercial came on it was that same Mormon commercial came on. I would change the channel only to have that same commercial come on. Finally I thought I have nothing else to loose. I went to the website and requested a free copy. When the Elders came to my house I thought to myself what have I gotten myself into I don't want to be a Mormon. Little did I know that I was on the fast track to becoming one. My joining the church has been the greatest thing that has ever happened to me. I have grown to know my Heavenly Father as I had never known him before. I have grown more spiritailly in the past few years than I had in the forty years I spent wandering on my own.

How I live my faith

I currently have several calling, ward missionary, assistant clerk, and executive secretary to the bishop. I love each of the callings, but best one is being a ward missionary and getting to help out the full time missionaries. To be able to care for them as my own sons and help them out is truly one of the greatest blessing God has given me. I do not know how I could ever repay the kindness and sacrifice these young men have made in their lives.
