Hi I'm Patty. I am a mom, an auditor

I'm a Mormon.

About Me

Iam a mom, an auditor, a student and I am a Mormon!

Why I am a Mormon

I joined the church 25 years ago, and I have never once regretted that decision. I am the youngest of six children, I was raised Catholic and attended Catholic school from 1st grade through the eighth grade. This gave me a solid understanding of the Catholic faith. From about sixth grade I remember not believing all that I was being taught and wanting to seek out more information. When I was sixteen I began attending other churches...seeking. This continued into my first year of college, when I met my future husband who was a Latter Day Saint (aka Mormon). I started attending CSU Fullerton institute where I took the Book of Mormon class for a year. I asked what I needed to do to become a member and started the missionary discussions the next day. My family initially really struggled with my decision to join another church, but as the years have passed they have been loving and supportive. I am so grateful for the good family I have come from and the family that I have been able to create; the gospel truly is the Plan of Happiness!

How I live my faith

The thing about being a Mormon is that it is ideally a way of life. Therefore the gospel is our life. I try to live my faith by knowing the scriptures and following the example of our Savior Jesus Christ. I love the scriptures for many reasons, especially because when I read and ponder them I feel my Heavenly Father's great love for me and clear answers to my prayers. It has been my experience over the years that all the answers I seek to all of my concerns and questions are in the scriptures. This brings peace, contentment, safety and joy into my life daily. Another way that I live my faith is through repentance. This gospel principle gets much attention however do we as God's children enjoy the blessing of repentance in our lives regularly? Until I realized the happiness and peace that comes from repentance I did not utilize this great commandment as I should. I am grateful to Jesus Christ for the power and majesty of the Atonement. I try to be the best I can be but feel comfort and joy to know that through the Atonement, Jesus Christ can make up the difference for my faults and shortcomings as long as I truly repent and press on in faith.
