Hi I'm Helen

I'm a happy mother and teacher. I love to be a mormon and I feel blessed for all this Gospel has given to me.

About Me

I'm a mother of an almost 5 years old very active girl. I also work as a preschool teacher, and I love it! I enjoy reading, watching classic movies (my daughter and I love Mary Poppins!) and writing. I have a wonderful family and I love to spend time with them.

Why I am a Mormon

I decided to baptize in the Mormon Church when I was 21 years old. I had a happy childhood, however my parents attended to different churches and I grew up not knowing which faith to follow. As a teenager and after visiting several churches I couldn't found one that made me feel complete and really close to God, so I began to lose perspective and behave in a not very good way. Everything started to change when my best friend died because of a car crash and I started to ask myself questions about the life after life. I visited several ministers asking about my friend's final destination and I found a lot of answers (she´ll go to hell, or to heaven, or her soul no longer exists...) and any of those answers gave me the peace I needed, and my heart asked me more. A few weeks after that tragic day I went to a mormon chapel with a friend. I stayed outside waiting for her and a man came to me and asked me why I was so sad. So I told him and he went into the chapel and came back with a poster that had the picture of two girls walking together and a message that said "The eternity is a long time, share it with a friend" and this man shared the Plan of Salvation with me. That was the first time I heard about the Lord's plan and even when some parts of it sounded unusual or even unbelievable I had a very warm feeling in my heart that made me believe even when I wasn't able to understand everything. This brother also invited me to left some of my habits, and incredibly as it sounds, it was really easy for me to change! I then started listen to the missionaries and his message changed my life. I now know that this is the Gospel and Church of Jesus Christ and that every single principle that is part of it is true, because I have prayed and asked the Lord and He has told it to my heart. It's not been easy, but I feel happy and blessed and I know I will be able to see my friend and also my family after this life and return to my Father's presence.

How I live my faith

I have had the opportunity to share with the women of the Church as a Sunday class teacher and also as their leader. I've been blessed for all I've learned from these incredible sisters. I now understand that the best way to follow the lord is serving others as He did.
