Hi I'm James

I'm a junior in college hoping to become a medical doctor. I love music and sports. And, I'm a Mormon.

About Me

Right now, I am studying exercise science at a university. However, this is just a stepping stone for my dream of becoming a doctor. I am looking forward to being able to help people heal through medicine. Although I am mainly dedicated to school, I enjoy writing, playing and performing music. I play bass in a band right now, but I mostly play guitar by myself. Personally, I find that music helps me relax and clear my brain from all of the things that I worry and think about a lot of the time.

Why I am a Mormon

Even though all of my family is Mormon, I had to learn of its truthfulness for myself. I'm a Mormon because I have had personal experiences where I have felt the Spirit testifying to me that this is the true Gospel. There are a couple of experiences in particular that are more important to me than others. For example, when I was about 14, I wasn't exactly the best kid. But, I knew that I should change. I repented. The feeling that I had when I felt that I had been forgiven was something that I'll never forget. It was a peace, calm and happiness that I had been looking for, but hadn't realized it. I learned that Jesus Christ is my Savior. Another experience that again told me this was when I was 16. When I was a junior in high school, my family moved from Pasadena, CA to the middle of nowhere town called Everson, WA. It was a huge change from what I was used to and I didn't know anyone there other than my family. It was one of the loneliest times of my life. The only way that I could find comfort was from reading the scriptures (in particular the Book of Mormon) and praying. There was one night in particular where I remember praying for at least one friend. The comfort that I was looking for was given to me. I found peace through the Atonement of Jesus Christ. For these and other reasons, I am a Mormon.

How I live my faith

I live my faith by doing my best to live God's commandments. I read my scriptures and pray daily. I love helping people, so I try and look for ways that I can serve those around me.
