Hi I'm Eric

I'm an English Major. I'm a socialist. I've written and recorded over 200 songs of several different genres and I'm a Mormon. Sup?

About Me

I may be a bit of an oddball, especially among my Mormon peers. I love literature and a very wide variety of music. I love tragedy and horror. I love everything from death metal to folk and blues. I watch a ridiculous amount of film and it makes me happy. I spend a lot of my free time writing and recording music, but I've also written and directed a number of short films. I currently write for an online publication doing concert and album reviews. You can check out some of the the articles I've written at thesoundandnoise.com

Why I am a Mormon

Being a Mormon is a wonderful thing. Unlike most of the faiths that I have personally encountered, The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints pleads with you to figure things out for yourself rather than blindly following them off of a cliff. I have spent a large portion of my life figuring things out and making sense of the Eternal plan that God has for us. It was worth it and it will continue to be so.

How I live my faith

Like most members, I go to church on Sunday and participate in as many church activities as I can. However I think the most important thing is to see the influence of God in everything around you. Even things that seem completely unrelated or have been claimed by some as being contrary to God. (ie. Astronomy, Evolution Philosophy) When you can see the hand of the Lord in all things, nothing can steal away your faith.
