Hi I'm Susie

I am a wife and a stay-at-home mother of five. I enjoy sunny days, gardens, and flowers. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

My favorite place to be is with my husband and our five children. I am an advocate of date-night and continually work on strengthening my marriage. I have been blessed over the years by the smiles of our babies, the laughs of our toddlers, the singing of our preschoolers, the pictures, notes, and hugs of our young children, and the goodness and talents of our teenagers . I love the memories we create doing crazy things together that break us out of our routine: silly-string wars, our own version of "Wipeout," water-balloon baseball, and other similar activities. I also enjoy square-foot gardening, landscaping, and floral designing. I love the beauty of God's creations--mountains, streams, sunsets, trees with blossoms in the spring or with colored autumn leaves. I love reading uplifting books and listening to inspiring music. I like being organized and having a house of order. I enjoy learning, researching, and developing my talents. I like compiling and reviewing digital sideshows and books of our family story.

Why I am a Mormon

I know that Joseph Smith is the prophet of the restoration. The heavens are open, and God's plan is the way to real and lasting happiness! I have felt the power of the Holy Ghost confirm to me the truthfulness of the Book of Mormon and the words of the living prophets over and over again. I receive answers, courage, and a vision of who I can become through studying the scriptures and words of the prophets. I have felt undeniable answers to my prayers, guidance from God, and strength beyond my own that can only come from relying on the Savior. His hand is constantly in my life, and I am grateful for all of the tender mercies He gives to me. His atonement heals me and gives me hope and strength through adversity. I know the power of the Priesthood is real I have felt it so many times in my life. I know that the temple is where we receive the highest blessings of the atonement and is a sacred house of the Lord. I am grateful for the peace, light, love, and joy the gospel brings in my life. I know that the family is of God. I am grateful for the sacred privilege of being a wife to my husband and a mother to my children.

How I live my faith

I strive to become a better person each day by consistently remembering the Savior and feeling His love for me deep in my heart and by keeping my covenants. I try to put my family first and to consistently strengthen my marriage and family. I schedule in family home evenings, family prayers, and family scripture study. I worship at church and in the temple. I try to be someone who helps others come to Christ. I learn to forgive and be compassionate. I choose to be of good cheer and to rejoice in the reality of the atonement. I depend on the Savior for help beyond my own. I recognize I desperately need his help and seek His guidance, and with His help I continue to work on turning my weaknesses in to strengths. I study and ponder the scriptures and words of the prophets, and I pray from my heart. I exercise faith and hope, and I pray and work for charity. I look for opportunities to serve others. I have served in the church most recently by teaching the young women of our ward and by being a visiting teacher to three women in the ward.
