Hi I'm Katelyn Adams

I'm 22 and I just returned from serving in Melbourne Australia :) I love being a nanny and I'm a Mormon!

About Me

I have recently returned from serving in the Australia Melbourne Mission :) I absolutely loved it!! It was the hardest and most rewarding thing I have ever done. The transition from mission life to home life is really hard but I am learning and growing so much. Each and everyday Heavenly Father reveals to me something new about myself. I am a lover of the arts. Mostly I just looove watching people do what they love. It always makes me smile seeing someone truly enjoying themselves. I have a beautiful family of 6,( soon to be 7 when my brother gets married!), who I absolutely adore and would do anything for. I have been blessed to grow up in the church under parents who were the best examples to me. My family and friends are the most important thing to me in this life next to my testimony of my Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ.

Why I am a Mormon

I'm a Mormon because I love the gospel of Jesus Christ. When I hear others testimonies as well as my own I can't help but be happy. And how can you deny happiness?! I'm a Mormon because the values, principles and standards taught are exactly how I want to live my life. They keep my life going in a direction I can be proud of and want to keep living.

How I live my faith

I live my faith each day by choosing to follow and recognize God in everything. I live my faith by spending time with my family every chance I get because I know that we are an eternal family and if I ever lose everything I have including my friends, I will always have my family. I choose to dress modestly because I know that my body is a temple and is sacred. I choose to attend church each week because the feeling I get there is better than anything else I have felt. I choose to go to church and institute because there is always so much to learn and grow from, and if I'm not knowledgable myself, how can I reach others righteously? I live my faith by not being ashamed to share it.

What is the First Vision?

Katelyn Adams
The First Vision is when a young boy in 1820, whose name was Joseph Smith, went into a grove of trees to ask God which of all the churches he had seen and been to were right. He didn't feel like any of them were right, and as he was reading in James chapter 1 verse 5 it said "If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, that giveth to all men liberally, and upbraideth not; and it shall be given him." And like I said, that is exactly what he did. He went into what we now call the sacred grove and prayed to God which church was right. Heavenly Father and His Son Jesus Christ then appeared to Joseph and told him none were right. That the priesthood authority and Church as Jesus Christ had organized had been lost over time. This First Vision marked the beginning of the Restoration of Jesus Christ's Church and priesthood authority back to the earth. Why is family so important to Mormons?

Katelyn Adams
Families are so important because they are a gift from our Heavenly Father. He loves us so much that He knew this life would be hard. He sent us to a family so that we could have a better life here on earth. The home is the next most important place to be after the temple to build of the kingdom of God. The home is a place and learning and growth in an encouraging and loving environment. I love my family so much, they are always there for me when I am going through a difficult time. Sometimes our families are far from us either physically or spiritually but we have the decision to make our families stronger and happier, moving in the direction of eternal life with them. I thank my Heavenly Father for my immediate family, extended family and friends families everyday and the blessing they are in helping me and loving me. Show more Show less

Do you really believe there is a prophet like Moses alive today?

Katelyn Adams
I believe that God loves His children all the same, whether they lived during the time of Moses or in the 21st century, and because He loves us all so much He wanted to give us guidance from a constant leader. Thomas S. Monson is God's chosen prophet today and he helps us know what God's will is for all of His children as a whole. The words of the living prophet are so important because they are to help us especially at this time of our lives. I have seen the blessings in my life from listening and abiding by the prophet and the counsels he gives us, and I know that you can recieve the same blessing and so much more if you take the opportunity to listen to the words of the living prophets and experiment upon their words.
