Hi I'm Nephi

Like Nephi of old I was also born of goodly parents who taught me the Gospel all through my youth.

About Me

I am a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints ( Mormons) and have been all my life, although I fell away from the church when I was about 15 yrs. old, and didn't return to the church until I was in the Air Force, stationed in Japan . I served 20 yrs in the USAF, retired and moved back to my home state of Idaho. I have been married to the same great lady for the past 53 yrs. We were married in Cardston, Alberta Temple. We have 8 children, 3 boys and 5 girls, three of them still live here in Idaho near us, the rest are scattered across this great united states. We used to travel a lot to visit them but our age is starting to slow us down and now they come to see us. We have 26 grand children and 30 Great grand children, with two more on the way. We have a GREAT Posterity! We love each one of them! I am now retired and spend my time keeping up our large yard, garden and fruit trees. I like to do puzzles, watch old John Wayne movies and build and repair things. I also enjoy visiting and playing with our many Grand Children. I have a great life and plan on enjoying many years more, watching our grand children grow up and have families of their own. LIFE IS GOOD!

Why I am a Mormon

.I know that the Church of Jesus Christ is true, but did not gain this knowledge until I was in the Air Force, stationed in Japan. There I had to make a choice of either living up to the standards of the Church or going to the bars and joints the way the other guys did. I made the choice of living the standards of the church. I began attending my meetings. We had a Mormon Branch that met on base in the base school house. From that point on I have been active and held many positions in the Church, no matter where we were stationed at the time. I have a strong testimony of the Gospel. I know that Joseph Smith was a Prophet dully ordained of God and that he translated the Book of Mormon and with the help and inspiration of God restored Christs Church once again to this earth. we still have a living Prophet on the earth today, and I know that God lives and that he directs this great church through the his Prophet Thomas S. Monson.

How I live my faith

I attend my Sunday meetings each week and study my scriptures daily. I have served in many calling in the church. I also serve in the Temple each week and enjoy helping the people that come that come. I also serve in the Family History Center each week, helping people to find their ancestors. Our family holds Family Home Evening each week where we enjoy teaching and learning from each other. We also hold family prayer each day. I try to follow the Commandments as best I can. I try to be a good neighbor and friend to those around me.
