Hi I'm Cyndy

I'm a Mormon. I'm a wife, mother, and grandmother of ten. Family is my passion.

About Me

I am a wife, mother, and grandmother. I love to travel. I enjoy reading, sewing, and baking pies. I LOVE being a grandma. I live on a farm with my husband and we enjoy the quiet of a rural home surrounded by fields of wheat, corn and alfalfa. We try to be involved in our grandchildren's lives through their sports and other activities, and volunteer in our small community.

Why I am a Mormon

I was born into an LDS family with cousins, aunts, uncles, and grandparents who lived the gospel and were good examples to me. We enjoyed family reunions, holiday get-togethers and served in the church. My love of the Savior's church and his gospel principles grew as I lived them. I gained my own strong testimony of the Savior's love through experiences in my life as I married, had children, and served in the church. Each of us have trials to go through in this life and I am no exception. Losing three of our five children at birth helped me turn to our Heavenly Father in prayer, study the scriptures and look forward with hope to a future eternal family. I love the plan of happiness and the promise that families are forever that are found in the LDS church

How I live my faith

I love to serve the in our ward. I organize a monthly activity for the ladies in our church. We learn many things, from crafts to how to can food to how to strengthen familiesand marriages. We work together teaching and learning. I visit three ladies each month and teach a message from our prophet and enjoy becoming friends. I have taught sewing, quilting, and share apples and peaches with our neighbors. I also work as a liason between family services and the leaders in our wards to make information available about counseling, addiction recovery programs, and adoption services available. We have been involved in service projects in our community. I try to be an example of the joy that comes from living a life that follows the teachings of Jesus Christ.

What do Mormons believe about the Bible? Do they regard it as Holy Scripture and the word of God?

We believe the Bible to be the word of God as far as it is translated correctly. I love to read the bible stories of Adam and Eve and their family, Noah and how his family was saved by obedience, David and Goliath, Ruth and Naomi, and the many other bible stories that teach us of how God helps us in our lives. I especially love to read about the Savior's life and the things He taught and the good He did. It helps me realize the reality of God's instructions to us even today through the scriptures. It also gives me many examples so that I can follow the path that Jesus Christ has given us. I love the scriptures including the Book of Mormon, Doctrine and Covenants, the Pearl of Great Price and the Bible. Show more Show less

What is being a Mormon like?

I love being a Mormon because as I study from the scriptures about Jesus Christ I learn how to become like him. I believe that someday in the future I will stand before the Savior and feel His love face to face. I learn hope, faith, and charity from weekly lessons as I attend church and live the gospel. I can find joy in life here and now because I know who I am, where I came from and where I am going. I can ask Heavenly Father for answers and comfort through daily prayer. Life has a wonderful purpose. The prophet and other leaders teach us how to obey God's commandments and to love and serve one another. It is a life full of hope and joy. Sharing this message with friends and neighbors is a blessing. Show more Show less
