Hi I'm Danelle

I'm a mother of 4. I currently live in Alberta but lived in Whitehorse, Yukon for 6 years. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I enjoyed creating a beautiful home environment for my growing family using sewing and music. I was an avid quilter and played piano as an accompanist as well as taught piano. I love creativity and classical music in particular. Sadly through overuse chronic tendonitis led me to have a surgery that went very wrong. Through accidental damage to the nerves in my right arm I can no longer play the piano or quilt as I once had. I have decided God has a different path for me to follow than the one I had imagined. I have decided to embrace what He knows about me rather than defiantly insist I know what's best. I have had time and perspective on personal, emotional and physical pain which I can share with my children. I believe this is a greater gift to pass on to them than an heirloom quilt might have been. Although I miss my music and other hobbies I find great joy in serving my Father in Heaven and showing my resilliency in endurance.

Why I am a Mormon

Being a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints has taught me about the character of my Father in Heaven and myself. I love it's precious truths!! I grew up in the church but came to realize the truth of this gospel for myself in my teen years. I am still an active member of the Church because I can't imagine facing a moment without the peace and confidence I feel when I act upon what God teaches me. When I am obedient through keeping my promises to God, He continues to bless me and I feel His love in every aspect of my life.

How I live my faith

I don't know what lies down the road for me physically or emotionally except that I can face each day with a peaceful assurance. When we put our hand in God's we will go where we need to go and get there through the adversity that we're meant to experience and come out a much better, wiser person than if we'd dropped the hand of love from Him who created us. I include in my regular routine every night a moment to write down in a small journal the blessings that allowed me to see the hand of God working in my life that day. It amazes me how involved He is in my life. I know He knows me personally and it's hard to keep that kind of joy to yourself!!
