Hi I'm Stephanie.

I'm a singer. I'm an actress. I'm a dancer. I'm a teacher. And I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am currently teaching 8th grade English in the Phoenix area in a low-income neighborhood. It's definitely challenging, but more and more I am discovering that I can help teach these children that they are special and important and that their education is a way out of their circumstances; that their background is not a death sentence, but a way for them to rise above and reach their full potential. There is definitely never a dull moment teaching these kiddos. I'm really busy most of the time, but it's the best kind of busy to be. I love reading, creative writing, singing, acting, dancing, playing the violin, traveling, riding bikes, journal writing, cooking from scratch, hanging out with friends, watching movies, getting letters, birthdays, shopping, and holding newborn babies. I also love to perform on stage whether it's acting, singing or dancing or all three! I come from a single-parent family and I wouldn't have it any other way; my family is amazing and we've been through a lot together and we continue to help each other to learn and grow through our trials. I love Bollywood movies and foreign films, vintage clothes and accessories and I would rather eat fruits and vegetables more than anything else! I'm a health food nut and I love to cook. I'm allergic to wheat, dairy and soy and I'm also a vegetarian. It makes for something interesting at meal times!

Why I am a Mormon

I'm a Mormon because it's who I am and who I always will be. I've experienced what it's like without Christ and Heavenly Father in my life and I never want to go there again. I know now from experience that following the gospel with your whole heart, might, mind and strength can bring blessings into your life that you never even knew you wanted or needed. In my darkest and weakest times when I can go to no one else, I can go to Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ. They are my protectors and I know that as long as I'm doing what's right they will bless me. I am grateful for the trials I am given because I know that they enrich my life and make me stronger; they make me the person that God KNOWS I can be. I see what is happening to my family because they aren't following the gospel and it saddens me; and even though they're my family and they mean more to me than anything in the world I can't let them get in the way of what God wants me to do. That is the most important. I am safe, I am in good health, I am happy, I have good friends, clothes on my back and a roof over my head and it all comes from following Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ and I wouldn't have it any other way. I am who I am because of Them and I will NEVER let it go.

How I live my faith

I help out any way that I can within my church community. One of my favorite ways is to share my beliefs through musical numbers in sacrament meeting. My favorite thing I've ever done though is teach in the women's group of the Church; I love to teach! I love sharing personal stories and examples and sharing advice with the women of the church and seeing it touch their hearts in a deeply personal way. I love it when my lessons allow the women to open up and get to know one another and to share their beliefs with others. I love to see their spirits soar and their confidence in themselves and in God grow.
