Hi I'm Meghan

I work in investment banking. I speak German. I love to travel. I'm a cancer survivor. I am a Mormon.

About Me

As a young adult, I have been blessed with many great opportunities. I have college degree in International Business. After graduation, I was offered a job in the investment banking industry. I have had the opportunity to travel to many places and gain a diverse perspective on the beautiful world around me. Through my travels I have been able to connect with and learn from my brothers and sisters, making me a stronger person. I come from an amazing family. My mom is an LDS convert of nearly 30 years, my dad a lifelong church member. They were sealed in the Salt Lake Temple, something I am forever grateful for. I have an older brother who has been an amazing example to me. I love service. As a cancer survivor, I have been involved in philanthropy efforts to help others affected by the disease. I strive to find opportunities to serve in whatever capacity afforded me.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because this gospel is, without a doubt, true! I was raised in the church, where I was given the tools and guidance necessary to fulfill my mission. My parents taught me in a very well rounded atmosphere, never sheltering me or hiding me from the world, but rather teaching me to embrace it and live the gospel how I deemed best. Growing up, I always knew that the gospel was true, but realized when I hit my teenage years, that I needed to decide to follow the teachings of my Heavenly Father and Savior wholeheartedly. I began studying and finding ways to serve. As I did so, my own testimony, which I share below, was developed and nurtured. I know that the gospel of Jesus Christ is true. I know that my Father in Heaven loves me and wants only the best for me! I know that through following his guidance, I am able to be blessed and guided to the paths that I should take. I know that Joseph Smith restored the gospel and translated the Book of Mormon. The Book of Mormon is a true book, written by inspired prophets of old for us, today. I also know that Thomas S. Monson is a prophet of God, on the earth today to lead our Father's children. I know that through revelation, our Father in Heaven speaks to all of us, that revelation still happens, and that our Father will always be there for us. I know, without a shadow of a doubt, that Jesus Christ atoned for our sins, that he was crucified, to rise again so that we all may do the same. I have found, throughout my life, that through the power of prayer, my needs are answered, that our Father in Heaven loves each and every one of us, and that I will, one day, return to live with him. I am a Mormon because I have felt the spirit of the Holy Ghost in my life and it has born witness to me that the gospel is true.

How I live my faith

I live the gospel everyday of my life. I have found that by turning my life to my Father in Heaven, that He is able to make so much more out of my life than I ever could on my own. I have had countless experiences wherein I have been guided by the spirit to do or say things that show my love for my Father and my Savior. I have had opportunities to share the gospel through service positions, where I have led, guided, and learned from others immensely. I have been able to draw nearer to my Savior as I have lived my life in accordance with his teachings and example. Following the commandments has been the biggest way that I have found to live the gospel in my life. I have had many trials and tests, but have found that by obeying, I have been able to come out on top and not falter in my faith. It is "the small and simple things" that have blessed me in the gospel and helped me to become the person that I am today.

What is the Word of Wisdom that Mormons talk about?

The Word of Wisdom is something that I have learned my whole life and been tried through often. In the church we have been taught to treat our bodies as the temples of God that they are. We are to refrain from alcohol, tobacco, illegal drugs, coffee, tea, and any other harmful substances that can damage the body. We are to remain healthy and active in our lifestyles in order to live our lives to the fullest. I have found that by obeying this important council, that I have been given health and strength to do the things in my life that I want and need to do. I know that the Word of Wisdom is inspired of God and that through it, I can be healthy and live a long life. There have been many times where I have been tempted by different things, but through remained strong, I have been blessed by my Father in Heaven. Show more Show less

In whom should we have faith?

Faith is one of the biggest aspects of the LDS faith. We are to have faith in our Father in Heaven, in His plan, in His teachings, and in His son, Jesus Christ. Faith is more than just believing though, in order to have faith, we must act on what we believe. I have found that by exercising my faith, that He has in turn strengthened my testimony. Why are only some Mormons allowed into temples? Is there something secret going on in Mormon Temples? What goes on in Mormon Temples?

All members of the church are invited to prepare and make themselves worthy of the blessings of the temple. The happenings of the temple are not secret, rather sacred. When a church member is living in accordance with the teachings of the church, they are encouraged to meet with local church leaders to determine worthiness and preparedness. In the temple, members learn about their eternal purposes on earth and unite families in this life and throughout the eternities. Personal reflection and improvement is a blessing of the temple. As worthy church members go to the temple, we are able to converse with our Father in Heaven to get answers to any problems or questions we may have. The temple helps church members to be united with our Father in one purpose. Show more Show less
