Hi I'm Tommy

And I'm a Mormon.

About Me

As of right now I am a college student and like most others, trying to find my place in this world. I recentely decided I would be a CHP officer and study criminal justice. I really love the outdoors, from hiking to camping and everything in between. My favorite sport is basketball (the greatest sport known to man) which I can never get enough of. I am the oldest of 4 kids with my 1 brother, and 2 sisters. Did I mention I absolutely love animals especially dogs and we have 2 of them. Scruffy and Misty. I suppose I should make mention of our cat as well. I like to call her Skitzo cause I personally think she's a little on the crazy side.

Why I am a Mormon

I have been a member all my life and as peachy as that may sound it's been anything but. I learned a saying the other day and it makes complete sense to me, it goes; a good person understands Satan better than a bad person does. You see you dont find out how tough an army really is until you face them and its the same with our own lives. You dont know how hard it is to go up against something until you've faced it head on. Being a good person/example all my life has not been easy, I choose to keep going cause of what I know to be true. I know that God and His Son live, that they are as real as every person out there and that they love us in an incomprehensible way. I know that they appeared to Joseph Smith in that grove of trees and restored their church through him. I know the Book of Mormon is the word of God not because its what my parents taught but becuase I was willing to learn it for myself!

How I live my faith

I've had the opportunity to serve in several different positions or callings within the church now. Now at this very time I serve in a capacity that is normally filled by men older then myself. I'm an Elders Quorum President and its been difficult for me. Basically I instruct, lead and organize man from the age of 18 up to 60 telling them what they ought to be doing and a lot of times I feel inadequate. My life at this time allows me to attend the temple every 2 weeks now and if it wasnt for the strength the temple provided me I know I would have a tougher time fullfilling my calling. I live my faith by following the example of my Savior to the best of my abilities and though I fall short at times I know he will be there to lift me back up again.
