Hi I'm Mark

I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a husband and the father of a little boy. I play the cello and sing and have even written a few songs (that are badly written but I still manage to be proud of). I love telling stories around campfires and hiking in the mountains. I want to travel the world. I have a deep passion for playing volleyball. I try as hard as I can to make my wife happy and to make my little boy laugh.

Why I am a Mormon

I have found that I have the greatest chance of achieving happiness and success in life if I follow the guidelines that God has given us through modern-day prophets of the LDS Church. I have read the Bible and the Book of Mormon many times and I believe they are true books that bring me closer to Jesus Christ. I grew up practicing Mormonism and I have prayed throughout my life to be led to truth, and as a result I have never stopped participating actively as a Latter-day Saint. I believe in God and I believe He loves all of His children. I have many friends who have come closer to God and become happier in life by embracing the teachings of the LDS Church. I want to do what God wants me to do and accomplish as much good as I can in life, and that's why I am a Mormon.

How I live my faith

I believe that God really wants His children to learn how to provide for themselves spiritually and temporally. He wants us to work hard and to use our strengths so that we can have the financial and emotional resources we need to live well. And He wants us to do the best we can to do this in spite of the struggles and limitations we have. My current employment deals with assisting people to become self-reliant. My faith in God helps me do this job with more compassion and skill than I could do on my own. I also teach a class each Sunday to help people in my congregation to prepare to visit the temple for the first time, which is one of the milestones we have as Latter-day Saints. I try to spend time with my family as often as I can and to keep my family strong and happy because I believe that strong families are one of the best indications of a thriving civilization. I try to be a great neighbor and I look for opportunities to help friends and strangers because I think that social interactions are a big part of what life is about.
