Hi I'm David

I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I am a recent High School graduate from Iowa, and I am preparing to serve a 2-year, full time mission. I love playing football, and I also threw shotput and discus in High School. I love instrumental music and played violin in the school orchestra for 6 years. Boy Scouts has been a big part of my teenage life, and I have earned my Eagle Scout award. Above all else, my family is most important to me, and I love having 4 brothers in additioon to my wonderful parents!

Why I am a Mormon

Both of my parents joined the Church when they were in their teens and then got married in the temple, so I grew up in the Church. However, because everyone has their agency, my parents have always given me the opportunity to decide for myself whether I wanted to remain a member of the Church or not. Throughout my childhood I lived and believed on the faith of my parents, and never doubted any teachings I received. In my teenage years, I still didn't have any problems with the Gospel, but I wanted to be able to know for myself that the Church was true. It has been a long process and is still ongoing, but through my faith, prayer, and reading the scriptures, I have gained a testimony that the Church is true and has been restored through the prophet Joseph Smith, that Jesus Christ is my Savior, that President Monson is a true prophet that God has called to be on the earth at this time, and that I may return to live with my heavenly parents and my earthly family again after this life.

How I live my faith

The simplest way I have found to live my faith is to be an example in my everyday life of being a believer in Jesus Christ and His restored church. I try to act with kindness whenever I meet someone, and I love volunteering and giving service. I know that helping others pleases God and makes us a better person. In addition to serving my community, I am going to be serving for two years as a missionary of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints somewhere in the world, where I will preach the restored Gospel of Jesus Christ, give service to others, and possibly be able to learn more about another culture and people.
