Hi I'm Melody

I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I'm a Mormon (Christian), a single mother of 4 and grandmother of 2 and 2 on the way. I'm currently unemployed do to health problems, so I started writing books (not finished or published yet). I love walking, movies, music, arts, camping, fishing, traveling, science, history, reading my scriptures, spending time with my family, and Jesus Christ. 3

Why I am a Mormon

I was baptised at 8, but most of my immediate family went inactive by the time I was 13. I had a special feeling that I should still go to church. Many times, it was difficult for me to be the only one in my family attending church, but I went. When, I was a freshman in High School, I had a rough day and cried most of the way home. I decided to pour my heart out to Heavenly Father when I got to my room. As I described my heartache over what had happend in school, the conversation, in my prayer, switched to asking if Joseph Smith was really a prophet called of God and if the Book of Mormon and the Church was true. A sweet peacefull feeling enveloped me, and my heart swelled within me with such great power that I knew the answer was "yes" to those questions. The power of the Holy Spirit was so strong that I quickly felt drained of physical strength and fell asleep for a few hours. (Those that knew me then knew that I hated "naps", so that was quite an experience.) I've had many more spiritual experiences, that keep building and reaffirming my testimony.

How I live my faith

One thing I learned from one of my church meetings was, "If you have a problem with forgiving someone of something they did to you or someone you love, try giving service to that person". Not only has it helped me to forgive, but it has helped me to become better at giving service. I try each day to make someone else's life a bit easier/better. What would this world be like if we all did that?

How can we increase our faith in Jesus Christ?

Melody
We can increase our faith in Jesus Christ by learning more about him. A good place to start is to read about him in the New Testament, then I would read The Book of Mormon. After getting the basics down, I would apply the teachings of Jesus Christ to your life, because you will soon start to see how true it is. Before I start new goals, I try to pray and ask for help from Heavenly Father to help me reach my goals, and I end my prayer "In Jesus' name". This has helped whenever I research any topic.
