Hi I'm Justin Eric Myers

I'm a husband, a father of two little ones, a sports enthusiast, and an architectural designer. I'm a Mormon.

About Me

I grew up learning to love the earth and its trees and all living things. I also learned that hard work is good, because then you can play - but making work 'play' is even better. So now I work in architectural design, having fun drawing pictures and coming up with creative designs that respect the natural world. When I go home I love to play with my son & daughter, work on my house and in my yard, and stay fit by running and playing sports with my wife and my other friends. I love my family. I love the earth. I love to learn.

Why I am a Mormon

I have chosen to remain a faithful Latter-day Saint Christian (Mormon) because it feels right in my heart and makes sense in my head. The gospel of Jesus Christ teaches us that families are the central part of our Heavenly Father's plan for us here on the Earth, as well as after we die. This truth of the gospel makes sense to me, makes me feel good, and gives me a sense of worth and purpose. Christ's teachings through ancient and modern-day prophets also help me to understand why life never seems fair, and how I can have hope that all of God's children are equal in His eyes, and all will be given a fair chance either in this brief mortal life or in the life after death. I don't know of another church that teaches such a compassionate doctrine to comfort the pain I feel when I see and learn about others who are living in situations of poverty, violence, and disease all throughout the world.

How I live my faith

I try to live my faith each day by recognizing the worth of those around me. I do this by being considerate of others' feeling and viewpoints, and by trying to find little ways to brighten someone's day - even if it's just by a simple smile or compliment. I pray to my Heavenly Father and study in the scriptures (Bible, Book of Mormon) every day. This helps remind me each day what really matters in a world that is full of hectic schedules, crude behavior, and a drive for material wealth. I try to teach my children to treat others as they would like to be treated. At work, I give my employer an honest day's work, and I consider honesty and empathy two Christian traits that are my strengths. I try to work each day on those that are my weaknesses. At church, I am always willing to help out wherever I am needed, because I know that serving others is a great way to bring personal fulfillment and peace.
