Hi I'm Samantha Peterson

Yes! I'm a Mormon and I love playing basketball. The picture on the left is one of me and my bestest friend forever!!!

About Me

My name is Samantha Peterson. I have been a member my whole life. I am currently going to school to be an Elementary School Teacher and I only have two years left. One thing I love to do is play basketball. I have four brothers, two older and two younger. My older brothers are married and now have little ones. Family is everything to me. I am so close to my family and my wonderful boyfriend! They have made me who I am today and I am forever grateful for them. I do not know what I would do without them.

Why I am a Mormon

I am a Mormon because of the truthfulness of the gospel. I know without a doubt that this church is true. It is only through the gospel that we can return to live with our loving Heavenly Father and be with our families forever. Growing up, I always went to church with my family. It was what we did. The older I have gotten I have come to realize more and more why I do the things I do. I would not be who I am today if it was not for the gospel. It has shaped me into who I am today and there is no where else I would rather be.

How I live my faith

I live my faith everyday. Everyday I strive to be the best I can be. I pray every day, I read the scriptures, and I strive to do what Heavenly Father would want me to do. I try to look out for those around me and try to be like our Savior, Jesus Christ. At my church, my calling is to be the three to four year old Sunday School teacher. I love my calling. These children have such sweet spirits and my testimony grows by their example. Children are so perfect and so innocent in God's eyes and I get the great opportunity to teach these little ones. I also help my ward with service projects and with the youth activities when I am asked.

What do Mormons believe happens after we die?

Samantha Peterson
When we die, our spirits go to the spirit world. If we were righteous here on the earth, we will be relieved from the troubles and cares that we had on the earth. It is in the spirit world that those who have not had the opportunity to hear the gospel on the earth will be able to be taught. We will stay in the spirit world until Jesus Christ's Second Coming and we are all resurrected. After this, we will be judged based on the desires of our hearts and our good works that we did during our time on the earth. After our judgment we are placed into one of the three kingdoms. The one that we all want to get to is the Celestial Kingdom. This is the most wonderful kingdom we can go to. It is said in the scriptures that its glory is brighter then the sun's. It is in the Celestial Kingdom that we can live with our Heavenly Father. We can also be placed in the Terrestial Kingdom. In the scriptures, they say that its glory is as bright as the moon. In this kingdom are those who have lived good lives but did not accept the gospel. They can be in the presense of Jesus Christ in this kingdom. The last kingdom is the Telestial Kingdom. In the scriptures, they say that its glory is as bright as the stars. It is in this kingdom will be those who lived and continued in their sins and did not repent for forgiveness. Show more Show less
